Ok, you might have seen a post I made on the painting and modeling board about my Snakebite Ork army led by a renegade Goff/Freebooter by the name of Orkamma.

I really like this idea as it gives me an excuse to add atleast a bit of Tech in a feral Ork army and I really love the background of the Snakebites but reading alot about the clan lately has proven to me that most people who collect a Snakebite army don't have any tech at all.

My question, and I would love some details, is: can I have some tech (as in trukks, battlewagons, big guns etc.) in a Snakebite list?

Thanks in advance!

Yes you can.

Especially if you add a few totemic bulls heads and such( check the warhammer range of orc bannerpoles) and such. you can also add timber(there are 2 wooden sides left over when you build an orc and goblin boar chariot, I have seen it used to great effect on ork vehicles). Snakebites are well known for using throwing machines (count as lobbas).

Hope that helps.

Yes, definitely. Snakebites treat vehicles as sort of totem beasts. Indeed, the most recent White Dwarf has a pic of a Snakebite Battlewagon.

Inspired by this, I took my Trukk and glued horns (left over from my High Elf Dragon) onto the front instead of a reinforced ram. Currently in the process of painting it, but will show it on Dakka when finished.

Other Snakebite units could include Kommandos. They would be more like indian scouts or trackers, but would have the same rules.

I've been thinking of doing this as well. Flashman has the same ideas as I do. Keep in mind that Snakebites are not Feral orks. Snakebites are about as teknoligically far along as any other ork clan, they just prefer 'da old wayz' of war to anything too new-fangled.

Trukks and Wagons would just have lots of trophies and furs on them, same with warbikes and buggies. Big Gunz are perfectly fine, especially a more catapult-style lobba. I could see themed Tankbustas as Snakebite big game hunters.

I wouldn't expect to see some things in a Snakebite list, like Shokk-Attack gunz, or conventional dreads (I could see them if they were modelled to look like a mechanical animal though). I think a lot of it will come down to the little details and paint scheme.

I think GrimTeef has this one.

Feral Orks do not have the technology for such things.

Snakebites want to hold on to traditions.

I would agree that SAGs, KFFs, and the rest of the really high-level tech wouldn't seem very Snakebitey.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

Wow, thanks for the replies, so far I've only got the Orks from AoBR (I'm thinking of leaving out the Deffkoptas, yeigh or neigh?) and I'm going out to get their codex when I can (I haven't got it yet, suprise suprise XD)

I was thinking of getting some fantasy Orc boyz but I'm a little cash-strapped at the moment.

And with the Battlewagon, use the horns that come in the box to decorate the ram (like the pic in WD)

Well you know I have a feral orks codex which I downloaded from the GW website once. The Feral Orks have vechiles, mostly old clunkers they found and used until they broke or it even speaks of them being pulled by boars. You c an also include big guns but only Lobbas.Yet I also think they'd have these yet I do agree with the other posts and also think that Kustom force fields and such would be a
