Cannock

I went to my gaming club yesterday and had two very good games of combat patrol against a battle sisters player.

The board had a hill along on side which I had setup on. I had one bunker like building in the centre of my deployment zone, with two ruins either side, one ruin was by some steps cut into the hill side. My opponent had two bunkers with a walk way joining them, a ruin directly opposite my ruin at the foot of the hill by the steps and then another bunker in the wider part of the board towards his side. There was also two large rocks over his side.

IGame 1

Iron Warriors

5 x Chaos Marines

5 x Chaos Marines

5 x Terminators - 1 x power fist, 1 x combi flamer & 1 x heavy flamer

5 x Terminators - 1 x pair of lightning claws, 1 x combi flamer & 1 x heavy flamer

Strategems - ammo dump & sewer rats

Battle Sisters

10 x Sisters - 2 x meltas

10 x Sisters - 2 x meltas

6 x Sisters - 3 x heavy bolters & 2 x multimeltas (i think)

Strategems -medical centre & infiltrate

Deployment

Battle Sisters deployed in the ruin at the foot of the hill near the steps which has the medical facility strategem. The heavy support sisters deployed on the walk way joining the two bunkers while the other sisters squad used the infiltrate strategem and deployed the other side of the bunker where I had deployed my terminators.

I deployed the lighting claw terminator squad within the ruin at the top of the hill near the steps, that building had the ammo dump strategem. My second unit of terminators were deployed behind the centre bunker while the CSM's were kept in reserve.

Round 1

The sisters the other side of the bunker by my terminators moved so that only two could see my terminators in the ammo store, the rest were behind cover. The other unit of sisters had deployed under the walk way and moved forward while the heavy support squad stayed on the walkway,

The sisters in the medical centre fired on the terminators in the ammo store and scored no kills. The sisters in view from behind the bunker fired at the same unit and scored no kills.

The lightning claw terminators moved out the ammo store and down the hill towards the sisters in the medical centre, they open fired with the flamer templates first and then bolter fire and scored four kills. The power fist terminators moved into the ammo store and fired on the sisters in view, the flamers were just short however one sister was killed even with the re-rolls to hit due to the ammo store strategem :(

The lightning claw terminators charged the sisters and the followers of chaos killed the faithful down to the last woman and took no wounds themselves. They then consolidated 3" and took cover behind a rock.

Round 2

The sisters with the heavy weapons held the position while the sisters near the walk way moved round to the open "no mans land" the sisters behind the bunker in my deployment zone come out into the open ready to rapid fire my terminators.

The sisters fire the melta weapons on my terminators in the ammo store scoring one hit but the termy passes the invulnerable save, they score a kill however with the high amount of rapid fire shots. The heavy support team spot the lightning claw terminators behind the rock and open fire but fail to wound.

I roll for reserve and one unit comes into play, they enter through a sewer marker which was positioned at the side of the medical centre. The lightning claw terminators move from behind the cover and into range for the bolters to open fire on the heavy support sisters. The power fist terminators move 2" taking them just out the ammo store but in range with the flamer templates.

The chaos marines which just come in from reserve fire on the sisters near the rock and score two kills. The lighting claw termys fire on the heavy support squad but fail to make a kill. The power fist terminators fire on the sisters and then charge into them slaughtering all those loyal to the emperor and don't take a wound themselves.

Round 3

The heavy support sisters keep the position and manage to kill one terminator from the lightning claw squad while the other remaining squad open fires on the chaos marines by the sewer marker but only score one kill.

The chaos marines switch to bolt pistols and move towards the sisters scoring two kills. The lightning claw terminators fire on the heavy support sisters and make a kill. The power fist terminators move towards the hill.

The chaos marines charge the sisters and score 3 wounds and take one themselves, the sisters fail and morale test and fall back.

Round 4

The heavy support sisters fire on the remaining chaos marines and wipe out the squad.

The other chaos marine squad enters play via a sewer marker by the bunker which is in no mans land, they fire bolters and kill one sister. The lighnting claw terminators move towards the sisters, but are far from assault range and fire on the heavy support squad but fail to score any wounds while the power fist terminators move down the hill.

Round 5

The remaining squad of sisters fire on the chaos marines leaving one just standing. The heavy support squad fires on the lightning claw terminators and score a kill.

The solo chaos marine moves forward and fires the pistol and charges into combat. The lightning claw terminators move towards the same sister unit, they open fire and then charge and wipe the sisters out however the sisters manage to kill the last chaos marine before they were butchered.

Iron Warriors win!

Game 2

We changed sides on the board but kept the buildings in the same position.

Iron Warriors

10 x Chaos Marines - 2 meltaguns

10 x Chaos Marines - 2 meltaguns

10 x Chaos Marines - 1 meltagun

Strategems - booby trap & infiltrate

Battle Sisters

10 x Sisters - 2 x meltas

10 x Sisters - 2 x meltas

6 x Sisters - 3 x heavy bolters & 2 x multimeltas (i think)

Strategems -medical centre & power generator

Deployment

Using the infiltrate I deplyed one squad in the ruin at the foot of the hill by the steps, another squad at the base of a bunker where the walkway is and another squad behind a rock out of sight. I had also booby trapped the sisters medical centre and power generator so they couldn't use them

The sisters deployed all in the same area, at the top of the hill behind the ruin which is opposite the ruin at the steps.

Round 1

I moved all chaos marines and used the run move for two units. The other unit which was out of sight I moved forward just the normal amount. My plan was do to a "D-Day" attack and storm up the hill in a massive chaos marine rush with the other squad in reserve.

One unit of sisters moved forward towards the marines already at the top of the hill and fired with heavy botlers leaving just 5 chaos marines standing. The other unit of sisters kept in cover behind the bunker while the other unit fired its multimeltas which scored two wounds, both were assigned to the marine which had the only meltagun.

Round 2

The chaos marines nearest the stairs used them to go up the hill while the squad now with no melta weapons took a difficult terrain test, rolling a 6 and managed to clinmb up to the top of the hill. The other chaos marine squad moved forward.

The 5 chaos marines fired on the sisters and charged scoring one wound and taking one wound. The chaos marine squad at the top of the hill were out of range along with the other squad coming in for support.

The battle sisters fired all fire power at the chaos marines at the top of the hill, killing all but one! In close combat the sisters took two wounds and the chaos received one, but the sisters passed the leadership test.

Round 3

The single chaos marine moved forward and with a blessing from the blood god charged into combat, it scored no wounds and took several itself but unfortunately failed only one of the many wounds it received and was removed from the table. The other marine squad used the run move and ended up near the top of the hill after moving 4".

The sisters manage to kill another chaos marine and receive one wonud also in combat. The sisters fire at the chaos marines coming up the hill and score four wounds.

Round 4

The chaos marines on the hill brow move forward and open fire on the sisters scoring a few wounds, the chaos in combat isuse no wounds and receive four themselves. They fail two wounds and are finally destroyed.

At this point I call it a day as I'm out number by 3 units to one and I had to leave.

Battle Sister win!

Two excellent games. The plan for the terminators to charge in and batter everything and torch all living things in sight worked. The two smaller marine squads did well kept in reserves and taking fire when popping up through the man holes.

The second game as earlier mentioned I just planned to storm the sisters as they had cornered themselves and butcher them. Put getting up the hill without the use of the steps held me back, plus they were too far back from assault and too much fire power. If I had higher numbers or Orks I would have made it with ease. Would have been a classic moment for Iron Warriors charging into the breach and slaughtering all

Also I'm not sure if the sisters had multimeltas or meltas in the normal squad. Also read the cities of death strategems later and noticed only infiltrating units get the infiltraiting rule, if I'm reading correctly and if so thats a bit odd. Also cannot bobby trap opponents buildings in their deployment zone.
