I have a few questions about the Ork Battlefortress, the first being it's use in normal games of WH40K. Could it be done, or should I consider it Apocalypse only?

What imperial armour book is it in? update 2006 says in it's description "THE INFORMATION IN THIS BOOK IS REPLACED BY THE IMPERIAL ARMOUR APOCALYPSE BOOK." Should I assume that means that update 2006 is also Apocalypse rules, or are the rules in IA Apocalypse the apocalypse version?

The measurements of the battlefortress would be useful to me as well.

THNAKS GUYS

Edit: sorry about the post. Rather new here.

As for your other questions:

The basic Apoc book has the 'Skullhamma' battle fortress and the Imperial Armor Apoc book as the 'Dethrolla' battle fortress. and those are the only current incarnations of Ork batle fortress rules according to the listings in IAA.

And in both cases, while the rules are written in the 'style' of Apocalypse they can certainly be used in regular games of 40K as long as your opponent is okay with you using a super-heavy vehicle.

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!

Sorry about the request.

What's the difference between the skullhamma and dethrolla? Is it negligible, or should I use a specific one?

Playing Speed Freeks here, so I want the quickest and cheapest.

Skullhammer for the speedfreaks. It's the fastest.

Who care's about cheapest if you have the fastest.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

I've used both. I find the skullhamma to be the best all-around.

Dimensions are on par with a Baneblade. In fact, the best way to build a battle fortress (in my opinion) is to start with the Baneblade kit.

Agreed. Skullhammer rules are also the easiest for me to buy, being in the Apoc book.

My plan for the conversion was a baneblade and a battlewagon kit.

TOGETHER THEY FORM VOLTRO- I MEAN BATTLEFORTRESS
