I think individual Tyranids don't have souls, so they can't be corrupted.
Not real sure though.

Tyranids are always a gentically evolving race and need stable DNA to keep on going.
Chaos would cause too much problems with unstable DNA and therefore been sorted out.

hmm, thats an interesting point! (slight off topic divergence but y'know)
how does chaos mutate? does it alter the genetic code or something?
(I dont know if thats a grossly wrong guess, Im not a scientician)

WELL maybe its like when scientist inject jellyfish DNA into mice, those mice's offspring glow in the dark so maybe it is sorta a genetic mutation?

Chaos mutated and corrupted tyranids can occur I think, the more likely as the hive fleets splinter. They travel extensively through the warp, have psykers in their ranks and when they are separated from the dominating effects of the higher up ranks, they become individual creatures, with according intellect by rank and 'complication' of the creature.
Genestealers, in certain of the previous history relating to cult armies, were shown doing many things, including in one short story a patriarch willingly allowing it's self to become possessed in order to maintain the power of the cult, it's human 'family' showing grief at it's 'noble sacrifice' as it entered the summoning circle.
There is reference in recent stories to a hive fleet splinter being blown off course in the warp and emerging near the eye of terror horribly mutated, the greater tyranid hive mind would doubtless consider this a diseased to cut from the body and attack the chaos-nids.
There is also, from what I've read in the forums, mention in the Storm of Iron novel of a tyranid ship captured and infected by the obliterator virus.
So yes, chaos tyranids are perfectly feasible imo, but would be an extremely rare happening in the vastness of the galaxy.

Fine.
Can the "mutated and corrupted" also become mutated?

I dunno MeanGreenStompa, dont you need to be actively worshipping the chaos gods before they'll 'bless' you with mutations?
I think, with the possible exception of Genestealers, there wouldnt be any 'nid creatures capable of 'worshipping' something. & Once theyre cut off from the hivemind wouldnt nearly all tyranid creatures just revert to animalistic behaviour?
also, do they travel through the warp? I thought the whole idea behind hive fleets was they just drifted through the void looking for prey. I was under the impression tyranids came from beyond the milky way, & had drifted here after consuming all life in another galaxy.

yeah, I can, with Nurgle's rot. all its flesh sloughing off & tentacles eating through one half of it's skull...
I phrased my last post badly, what I meant was I was thinking the way they'd be corrupted is like an animal can be exposed to the corrupting influence of chaos, as opposed to being 'gifted' with a mutation.

In the "Possible Mission Fluff" section of the Daemonhunters Codex (pg 53) there are a number of examples were Tyranids become corrupted, including;
- A hive ship sucked into the Warp, and what emerges is corrupted beyond all reason.
- Corrupted Hive Tyrant with Nurgle's Rot.
- Khornate Icon driving Turanid swarm into frenzy.

Nope, exposure to the warp allows for the possibility of mutation, again there's old fluff about lost ships and spacehulks emerging from the warp with the crew mutated in various nasty ways (kinda Event Horizon style). The crews of those ships wouldn't even have known about the ruinous powers, just that the guy in the next bunk was sprouting horns and trying to eat them. Its exposure to the warp that increases the chances of mutation, obviously serving the chaos gods usually means running off to the eye of terror where the warp is spilling into realspace, so there's the mutation thing, plus summoning daemons etc is also opening holes in reality, so again, exposure to mutation.
and 1hadhq thanks for spotting my poor writing, I shouldn't be posting on a Sat. morning following early doors Friday...
