Are Kroot armies really that bad

The WD Kroot army list from way back yonder was just a bit of fun and it isn't legal anymore anyway. Plus Kroots with wings just looked daft.

If we're talking about Kroot in Tau armies, they will slaughter their way through low toughness, low armoured opponents, but will come unstuck against Space Marines and the like. They are also very vulnerable to being shot up, particularly if nobody has put any woods on the board.
