wat is a good model to convert please help as it is for a competition but i don't know what to do

the competition is based on what race you pick and making the model look much cooler than before
its just the madness or difficulty

make a movie space marine a real space marine like fluff stories minature make him a heroic stance and put tons of detail on him also put cloacks puritey seals and stuff like that in imo that would be a cool model

you have until friday to state the model you will convert
the model has to be from 40k
you can do whatever you want with it
after this friday you have a month to present the model fully painted and made
you can use whatever bits you want


im thinking of making a terminator squad and converting them

if anyone has any ideas for what to convert i would thank them

ps i know how to paint well but i have little experience with green stuff

People generally convert because they want to achieve an effect or create a combination of wargear that isn't normally available. To convert for the sake of 'making a conversion' is a peculiar way to approach modelling and is the source of your problem. You don't know where to start because you don't know what you want at the end.

Apart from it being a requirement for a competition what do you want to get out of it? Ok, have a look at models online or at the art in the books you have. Try other things that interest you, do you have interest in specific periods of history or something like that? You need insiration and a genuine interest in your chosen topic to persevere with a conversion, a passion to create your goal. Converting for the sake of conversion doesn't engender this.

When you decide a theme or roughly the effect you want to achieve then ask for advice on how to proceed. Short of people telling you to do a simple arm swap no one can point you in the right direction until you tell us where you want to go.
