For this week I have this Ogre Kingdoms army. I've always wanted to do one as I love the models, so I decided to pick some up to paint and sell on ebay. I wish they played differently, I'm not much of an MSU style player...
The giant is from ultraforge. Their models are very cool, and hes about 1.5 times the height of the GW giant.
The bases are cast resin.
Here are some pics:
Thanks for checking them out and if you have any questions feel free to ask!!
Those are some rather handsomely painted Ogres you've got there
I'm not too keen on the metal or red/grey trousers. I think perhaps the is a bit to shiny for my tastes, although the rusting effects are nice (of course, the brightness may come from the camera perhaps).
The skin is great and I absolutely dig those bases. What did you make that stone effect from?
Good looking force GMM. I'm not 100% sold on some of the metals though, as they seem a bit flat.
But seeing some of your signature smoothness in things like the banner skull is a nice tradeoff ^_-.
Thats the camera, and the fact that its based on chainmail. My camera is really finicky when it comes to high contrast or bright reflection on the model.
Some of the swords and gut plates show what the metals truly look like in person.
One of the nice things about metals that doesnt translate to photograph is that by using the juice technique for shading and then rehighlighting at the end, you can not only get variations of light and dark but also dull and shiny.
my only C&C (& it might be the camara) is that they're a bit pale -for my tastes - so all the colours look a bit washed out. (please don't hate me!).
I would add a bit of brown mixed with black ink to line the different areas to make them 'zing' a bit. However I'm sure they'll fetch a good price - good luck.
Check out my gallery here Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!
