in this box what is the little alein mound thing and what is it used for.

I think it's some sort of spore generator. I got a couple of them in the Dakka bitz swap and used them along with some aerosol caulk for pustules on the sides of my plague marines land raider.

They are tyranid-esque terrain. They are great for use in apocalypse to represent stratagems or to use as objectives.

I think it was called Hive Node.

its basically used to fill up the frame so people dont feel so ripped off . though they could easily fill it with ripper swarms ( like warrior / gaunt ) boxes.

Or feeder tendril heads. I hear nid players just love those.

I like the little bit of terrain on the sprue. Normally you either have to make one yourself (and have it look bad) or spend way too much $ for a resin one. I wouldn't mind getting them on my Space Marine sprues (imperial terrain stuff that is). Unfortunately I collected stealers back before they started including those.

For the record I am new to the nids I use the orks. Wahhggggggggggggg. And I do not get tendrils.
