so following suit with my A.D.D. i bought the tyranid assualt brood so i need some ideas on painting! what yall think.

look at each of the hive fleet or create you own style for example my friend called his hive "Armageddon" and painted them christmas colours.

Biggest range of options will come from the second.

You basically need four colors.

Chitin, skin, soft bits and claws.

Chitin and claws may be the same color. Chitin and soft bits may be the same color.

Might also need an extra color for eyes.

Chitin is their shells, plates, etc.

Skin is the rest of their body.

Soft bits are the striated looking vents they have here and there.

Claws are their talons, blades, teeth, etc.

So, for example, Leviathan has purple chitin, white skin, pink soft bits and red claws.

The codex is the obvious answer, but also look at real life animals for some ideas. I'm working on Tyranids right now too, and I've sifted through a lot of photos of insects and crabs. Almost any sort of invertebrate might be good to look at.
