Hey Dakka,

I have an Apocalypse game this weekend, and luckily ust finished my own Stormlord. When I stopped by my local GW, a redshirt and I were talking about super-heavies (the first time I'll be trying them) and he pointed out that the Stormlord's Heavy Flamers were Heavy 3. I tried explaining to him it was probably a typo from a Heavy Bolter profile meant to read Assault 1 but he insisted that since the Stormlord has fewer weapons than a Baneblade, it's Heavy Flamers warranted three templates. Now, my Apoc teammate and I both play RAW typically, as well as our opponents, but we don't want to be cheating nor do we want to be cheated out of shots that we paid for. Any experience with this? Consensus?

Funny enough the picture of it still mentions sponsons with lascannon and twinlinked heavy bolters. There's also a twin-linked heavy bolter in a fixed forward mount, troop bay with crew-served heavy stubbers (not one pintle-mounted one) - and the Vulcan is called twinlinked.

I'd say the entry is a mess. There might be weapons left out (heavy bolters) which is why the flamers are called Heavy 3.

Agreed, the entry is a mess. I never even caught the fact that it says Heavy 3! I'll have to double-check mine tonight. I would just play it as Heavy 1 Twin-linked, or however the Hellhammer has it listed.

Quote "Apoc reloaded" (german):

Heavy flamer = assault 1

options: 2nd sponson with heavy flamer + lascannon or heavy bolter + lascannon.

Not US-related but still GW.

Thanks guys for the suggestion.

@1hadhq; does the German print allow for Stormlord with HB/LC sponsons to start, or do you have to take Heavy Flamers? I'm not a fan of template weapons. Also, does that print include anything about a hull-mounted twin-linked Heavy Bolter? I've left a spot prepped just incase it does end up in the rules.
