I dunno...

One thing I find a little weird is that when you write a spoiler, any abbreviations in it aren't hidden, for example:
Spoiler:
GW and PP are modelling companies, GW makes 40K, WHFB and LOTR, PP makes WM and HOR

it's not that hard to guess what I am actually saying without reading the spoiler

Bewhiskered Gasmasks: For the Post-Apocalyptic Gentleman

And to this day, on darkest nyte
It can be seen, they tell
A Prynce of Rattes, in finery
Upon a horned bell.

Though it can be a little annoying, I have been too lazy to fix it so far as shown that even with your short message it was still very hard to figure out what your message might say. There are a few occasions where it might cause issue and I'll fix it at some point but it is a very low priority for the moment.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

I've also noticed that if the spoiler is at the start of the post, then at least the first half-a-dozen words appear on the mouseover preview... but that doesn't seem worth fixing even if it's possible, since it's not a problem as soon as another post is made.

Yeah I've noticed that too and it bugs me. Again it is on the fix-it-some-day but it is rare and temporary, as people dont usually start their posts with the spoiler tag, there is usually a brief description of what the spoiler is first. It will get fixed at some point but only in accordance with how big the issue is.
