Hey all

I will make this one short and sweet:

Long story short, I am thinking of using battle pilgrims (basically a human on 20mm base) painted nurgly as counts as plaguebearers.

I didnt realize plaguebearers were on 25mm

Do you think tournies would have problems with counts as PBs on 20mm bases? I was also going to put the heralds on 40mm...since I am using the Reliquaes.

Thanks a lot!

Yes, they should mind. Base size is a huge deal in fantasy.

Agree with Canaan, Base size is a very important aspect of WHFB and as such all models especially counts as models should be on the appropriate base size.

What if it were the other way around- a model that belongs on a 20mm base put on a 25mm one? That would give a disadvantage, if anything, right?

In 40k (where base size is obviously much less important) it's usually a disadvantage to have a larger base, too (which is why some people put terminators on 25mm bases instead of 40mm)

One suggestion to the original poster- perhaps if you put them in a movement tray of the appropriate size, and spaced them out to fit in it, it wouldn't give such an unfair advantage and would be allowed (or perhaps not even noticed really?). Just a thought I also saw movement trays where there were cut-outs for the bases and these were angled to promote unique poses- but the tray itself was a bit wider because of this and might be of the appropriate size.

Both smaller and larger base sizes each give advantages and disadvantages. In the case of a Larger base size this will allow the model to be in contact with more enemies than he normally would be able to. While this might seem like a disadvantage it actually does allow the model to get into contact with unique models such as champions and Characters.

Meh, I don't think it would break the game in a friendly enviornment. I was just wondering whether the base size rule was strictly enforced.

I'll just put them on 25s then.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Isn't that against the rules?

It doesn't break the game, but it still changes the rules.
