1) Removing a character's drones because he died occurs at the end of the phase he died (p. 31), and morale checks due to shooting casualties also happen at the end of the phase, so which happens first? I could see a squad being over 25% casualties if a dead team leader's drones are removed first, and under 25% casualties if the drones are not removed first. Both rules just say they happen at the end of the phase...

2) Can drones really not benefit from markerlights? The markerlight rules (p. 29) specifically mention Tau and Vespids, so the precedent seems to be that drones are left out and could not benefit. This is just pretty weird considering the sniper drone teams have a networked markerlight in the squad, presumably for a reason...

1) I would interpret this sentence as taking out the drones first. Since there is no controller, what does it matter if they fall back or not? They will simply be removed anyway.

2) Where does it say that drones do not benefit from ML's? My drones always do. The only thing that can't benefit from ML's are the AFP and other ML's.

Only Dr. Cox knows how to express my innermost feelings for you and your arguments.

It says only Tau and Vespids, I can see why you might think this to mean not drones, but I consider the drones a Tau unit and am yet to see someone disagree in real life.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

It matters for any squads that aren't sniper drone teams. Imagine a 6-man stealth suit team where the team leader has a drone controller and two gun drones. In some shooting phase, the team leader is killed but everyone else is lucky enough to make their saves or whatever; if, at the end of the turn, the team leader's drones are removed first, then they've taken enough casualties to make a morale check next, but if drones are removed last then the squad hasn't taken enough casualties to check morale in the first place. See?

I'm personally leaning towards removing a dead model's drones before checking morale - it makes more sense to me - but I could certainly see someone ruling it either way since the order doesn't seem to be stated anywhere, they both just occur at the end of the phase.

So in this case do Kroot count as a Tau unit as well? For the Ethereal, it lists drones and kroot specifically as not being Tau units, but if people think this is a different matter then that's fine.
