Ithought I'd go ahead and post some shots of my 4th Ed army, and second
40K army altogether, a Space Marine force entitled 'Purgura Avengum'.
It is the personal army of an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor, whose legacy has followed his family's bloodline since the Heresy. Each member of this elite fighting force bears the gene-seed of Mortarion, primarch of the Death Guard, but they are loyalists all, and the minions of Plaguefather Nurgle are their enemies first and foremost.
Rules-wise, this army used the traits
Take The Fight To Them (Assault armament for troops) and
No Mercy, No Respite (optional Furious Charge). They were originally allied with a friend's Daemonhunters force, hence the occasional Inquisition symbols throughout the army.
I started this army in 2005, and built it pretty slowly... still needs a little work, but I'm not known for finishing things. The army was veteran sergeant based - every squad used them. Without further ado, here are the veterans.. and a few tanks.
My first veteran, and the second model I painted for this army, as a test for the veteran colour scheme. Note the rubbish banner. Please feel free to post laughing ork macros.
Power Fist Veteran - This fellow was usually a part of my Razorback-mounted veteran squad.
'Fisty', my dual-powerfisted assault sergeant. A member of his squad was armed with two pistols to make up
WYSIWYG in 4th ed rules, but he's also equipped for maximum attacks in 5th... not that I play these guys in 5th.
Veteran with dual power swords. I love this pose.
The veteran of my single bolter-armed unit.
Veteran with Storm/Combat Shield. He usually led my dedicated veteran squad.
Chaplain Algus - making hits happen, more!
Scout sergeant - not usually fielded as a veteran, but here's a photo anyway.
My battlegroup commander - he usually sat with the bolter armed squad, providing the 4th. Ed leadership bonus and defending the most defensive part of the army.
A generic veteran-squad veteran with a book, he occasionally represented a Librarian.
Good old flash photography...
Three basic foot-assault Marines
My dreadnought, with custom Multi-Melta. Because we all know it's a long-barrelled meltagun, not a twin-linked meltagun. There's a green LED behind tissue paper, underneath that gothic window bit I used.
One of my rhinos, with a Leman Russ dozer blade, and missing a hatch door. I've got some spares anyway...
Finally, a Razorback and a Predator.
Hope you enjoyed!
