Currently it seems that italics, bold, and underline tags don't work for gallery comments, so it just shows up as "[i]example[/ i].*" Also, I'm not sure whether URL tags will work, but when I tried to post a link in a gallery comment, it wouldn't post. Instead an error came up saying that I had to have a space at least once every 40 characters.

It would be nice if this could be changed (particularly the ability to post URLs in comments).

*Space added for demonstration purposes.

Anything other than basic text was cut out in the initial version of the gallery as we were not sure how well the comments system would integrate. The commenting on images is totally separate to the rest of the site, and is implemented in an entirely different way. This means that to reimplement all the supported formatting from the forums would be quite a bit of effort, and as we wanted the gallery to actually launch someday, I decided to keep it as plain text for simplicity for now. In good time I'll add formatting, but for now, due to the limited mod integration with the gallery and the scope for potential issues I am going to leave it out as I dont have time to perform all the necessary testing just yet. So in short... sometime it will get that stuff.

Oh yeah, upload more FoW stuff A few full army shots would be very nice

Also, Hordak and I were testing whether or not we were notified
about gallery comments. We weren't. :(

One thing that is cool though Malfred, (but not a real notification), is if you go to your own gallery, there's a place on the right of the screen that says "Recent Comments" and has links to recent comments on your gallery photos. You should find several from me there.

I noticed though, if I go to someone else's gallery, I can't see their list of "recent comments." It might be cool to be able to see a list recent comments someone has made in other people's galleries, and also cool to see who else has commented on that person's gallery as well.

And Legoburner, glad you like my Flames of War stuff. By all means vote and leave comments on the stuff you like.

I'll try to post some more stuff soon, but it'll probably be more Hordes related, as that's what I've got laying around to work on here in Deutschland. I'm hoping to have some Hordes stuff finished within the next couple months.

Unfortunately all my Flames of War stuff is back in the States so it'll be awhile before I have some fresh material to post in that category. I've got a lot of stuff in progress (and almost finished) that I'll post when I get back though, including more DAK and Russians! Won't be until around September or October though...

This was just a server consideration. I am still monitoring how much impact the gallery is having on the server, and since showing recent comments is a couple of database queries, I left it out of general user pages for now, and only show it for specific user pages. Hopefully I'll be able to add it in the future if the demand is there. The intention of it is just to make sure people dont miss comments about their own images when they happen.
