In About a 1000 pt game I just cant beat my friends Eldar
He uses: Farseer, Banshees, Scorpions, Harlies, Gaurdians, Avengers, Rangers and a Walker..
the 3 Elites units are just unbeatable.. especially the Harlequins.
What can my Tau DO ???

No transports for them? Is he walking across the field!??! + What do you normally run/own?

You flatter me. But really, I'm just an ordinary guy. I put my pants on the same way anybody else does: I put a gun to the head of my manservant and bark Russian military commands at him until the poor blighter either figures it out or watches his brains exit his forehead.

Love to, but what do you own/normally run? What sort of boards are you playing on? Are you rolling missions or just doing KP?

Well with just what you listed here is a suggestion.

Equip the Crisit suits with Flamers (twin link them) and deepstrike them near the Harlies. This will remove the unit

Outfit the stealth team with as many Marker Lights as you can get, since the Drones are relentless you can move and fire them. Use them to either Pin a unit or remove cover saves (pathfinders) Keep Burst cannons on the Stealth suits.

Your Fire warriors can and will put the hurt on the avengers, shoot them before anything else (unless the basnhees get close)

You cannot beat the banshees in CC< so to kill 2 birds with one stone just Railguns to shoot the falcons. Remember you get +1 to the damage roll and only need a 2+ to do something. Once the tank is gone, target the Walker with the Rail guns and switch the firewarriors target to the banshees.

Your Kroot will not be doing anything useful so strong them out in front of all your troops to be killed in CC when he gets it close. Then after they die rapid fire whatever killed them.

If you can add in a few more marker lights.

Go take a look at my Eldar guide to get a idea of what the units are capable of.

The Eldar, more than any other army, should not only look at the output of each unit individually, but the synergy of multiple units together and their role in the force as a whole. - Fable

Use AT weapon against the Falcons an' since he seems more close combat, use kroot as meat shield while fire warriors an' others blast the snot out of 'em. Dont forget to make sure he doesnt cheat...

Hammerhead beat falcon with Railguns

Kroot can take Banshees in Hand to Hand

Ragewind has a lot of valid points when it comes to taking down the Eldar player....use your Kroot as cover saves and a throw away unit, if you find them living to long for your liking, throw them on any objectives(if it's not KP) and make em kill them.

Target priority is the most important thing as Tau....even more so against a specialized army like Eldar. Focus fire at one target at a time and widdle em down

Leave a squad of fire warriors in as close to your deployment zone as possible, and have them shoot.

advance the other squad forward towards the objective you want

quickly run the Kroot to another close by objective in a forest and have them go to ground for a 2+ cover save.

Once you have at least 1/2 of the objectives look to contest / table your opponent. This will net you the game, but if a enemy is using a seemlier tactic then whoever wins the confrontation in the middle of the board will probably win the game.

Please don't start three topics about this subject just because you didn't get enough help because you always start multiple topics and then multi-post like crazy within those topics.

Ah! Found your problem.

Build a fire for a man and he will be warm for a day; set a man on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

Sly Marbo was originally armed with a power weapon, but he dropped it while assaulting a space marine command squad just so his enemies could feel pain.

Sly Marbo doesn't go to ground, the ground comes to him.

What? Banshees in a falcon? What about the other units? Count his points, he might be shafting you. I play Eldar at 1000 pts, and I could never find the points for the units I want.

His units would have to be really small to afford that range of units....

If you have a Hammerhead, that unit will make your matches much easier. Both of its firing modes are extremely effective since the AP 1 on its single-shots hurts even vehicles with holo-fields and its AP 4 large blast devastates most Eldar infantry.

If we're going with what you have right now, I'd use the Kroot as a decoy unit to let your fire warriors rapid-fire into the enemy. For example, if you position your Kroot in the way of one of his assaulting units, it'll allow your fire warriors to annihilate the offending unit with rapid fire after they wipe out your Kroot. Believe me, Eldar do not want to be hit with than many 2+ wounds. Harlequins in particular are going to have a hard time since their Shadowseer's anti-shooting ability doesn't work well at close range. They might seem invincible at long range, but they die terribly to mass close-range fire.
