So, I was reading the book and noticed the guy with the character with the named carnasaur has a spear that gives +1 str on the charge.. RAW would infer that he gets +2 str on the charge because he would also get the +1 str from the weapon being naturally a spear..

Also, when you take a skink chief with the Steggy Lance.. it gives the 2d6+ impact hits for the steg but also gives the chief +2 str on the charge because it is naturally a lance...

What do you guys think? (I know this was a horridly written and rushed codex..)

Ignore the names lance and spear. Magic weapons over ride all mundane characteristics. So the spear is only +1 and the lance would not give the skink +2

Unless of course the Lance says in the description "counts as lance"

I dunno...

It is a bit OT but it really annoys me when people refer to a WHFB book as a 'codex' it is called an army book in Fantasy

Bewhiskered Gasmasks: For the Post-Apocalyptic Gentleman

And to this day, on darkest nyte
It can be seen, they tell
A Prynce of Rattes, in finery
Upon a horned bell.

Okay his spear just adds +1 strength on the charge because it is a magical weapon, and ignores the mundane rules that associate with the name.

The Stegadon lance does get +2 strength on the charge because the first word in the description is is Lance.

Codex = A codex (Latin for block of wood, book; plural codices) is a book in the format used for modern books, with separate pages normally bound together and given a cover. It was a Roman invention that replaced the scroll, which was the first form of book in all Eurasian cultures. ;
an early manuscript book; a book bound in the modern manner, by joining pages, as opposed to a rolled scroll ;

Codex = book.. sorry for any confusion.

If you call every book a codex, that's one thing. But I think you probably reserve "codex" as the name for 40k and fantasy books that include the Army List. 40k books are called a "codex" Fantasy books are call an "Army Book"
