I am planning on starting a Daemon army and for my Chariots I had planned on using Ushabti in TK Chariots. I was just wondering how big the Ushabti actually are and if they would look ridiculous in the chariot (or worse yet not even fit). The plan was to have the Jackal as Khorne, Vulture as Tzeentch, Croc as Nurgle (using Khorne stats) and Asp as Slaanesh. Thanks in advance

Interesting idea. Unfortunatly I don't own any Ushabti, so I can't tell you anything about it.

10 Points for spelling Ushabti right.

As for how they would look?

I think with some conversions (even minor maybe) and the right paint job i think they could fit in fairly well.

I think your choices of which ones = which gods is good, but I'd consider some conversions on the Nurgle one especially, make him look sick/diseased, and possibly wings on Tzeentch, and tentacles of some sort on the Slaanesh one.

I know these comments are generic, but hope they help!

Thanks. There will be some minor tweaks on them to make the chariots more fitting to the Gods. However, the Ushabti themselves will likely remain as is, albeit with their Gods color scheme.

Tzeentch herald will not get wings but his chariot will fly and be pulled by a modified TK Carrion Vulture. It will not have wheels, but it will be in the traditional chariot shape. I will be greenstuffing this chariot and the back of the chariot will shift into flame.

Nurgle's chariot will actually be a ramshackle sleigh with a few nurglings scurrying about. It will be pulled by a Beast of Nurgle.

Slaanesh's chariot will be sleek with some extra daemonette hands scythed on the wheels and other 'neshy bits. It will be pulled by a Slaaneshy looking Scorpion (TK as well)

Khorne will use a traditional chariot pulled by a Jugger.

I may actually just scratch build all of the chariots myself just to save $$$ and to insure that the size is in proportion. Overall, this list will be going with an "Egyptian" feel to it. Some other custom units in this list will be:

Seekers of Slaanesh- These will be goblin spider bodies with Daemonette torsos (centaur style)
Fiends of Slaanesh- Green stuffed-TK Scorpions

Daemon Princes (MoN)- Ogre Iron Guts

Juggernauts will have heiroglyphics and runes etched all over them

Lesser Daemons will be adorned with gold and turquoise jewlery

I think If you leave all the Ushabti as stock models it might stick out as Tomb Kings. Some work should be done on some of them, to differentiate at least.

Then again, show us some paint and that may make all the difference.

I haven't even purchased most of the models yet (only have my troops so far but they aren't painted yet). I will get some pics as they come along.

Having used TK in the past, I would caution you about using Ushabti in stock TK chariots. I made a Tomb Prince on foot with a standard 20mm base, and he barely fit onto the chariot. The Ushabti each fill a monster base.

You could still fit them on a chariot, just that you would have to scratchbuild them...

how about putting wings on the chariot your Tzeentch Ushabti is riding in. think it would have this ancient mythology look to it.

Ooooooh...thanks! I like that Idea a lot. I can attach a pair of Mage Knight Pegasus wings to the side of the chariot.

Should I use scorpions for the fiends? My only concern here is the height difference may be unfair. The models for the two are the same cost so I suppose I might as well just use the fiends they are just wierd looking. I mean sea-horse headed 10 boobed scorpion horse thingies? Really, who came up with this one?

i hope you can see the scale the ushabti is. and he's quite thin. i sued the 60mm base to amke him a daemon prince. and i also used a 60mm base to make the platform for the chariot.

@joyous you dont really need to model it just the right paint job.

sorry i really coudnt get the scale. cuz i just coudnt be bothered to take em outta the base. hope this helps

Those look awesome! The birdman is smaller than I thought he would be, which is good! He should look at home in a chariot of that size!
