What armies in 40K can field Arbites - the cops? I remember (dimly) that there used to be figures forthem, they looked a lot like riot police with shotguns. Are they still fieldable today? Perhaps Witch Hunters or something? Can't remember...

Also, what armies in 40K can field hordes of cheap humans, like cultists, gangers and conscripts? I know the IG can field Conscripts and Alpha Legion can field cultists. Can anyone else?

Thanks in advance for fluff info!

No army can field Arbites. You might want to just proxy them as something else.

And as of the fall of The Lost and the Damned, no army really has cultists, conscripts, and gangers in large numbers anymore. You'd probably have to pull a "counts as" with some IG or something.

Pain is an illusion of the senses, Despair an illusion of the mind.

The new Chaos SM codex doesn't allow Alpha Legion to field lost and damned anymore? There was the Chapter Approved chaos cultists that allowed you to field up to 50 in one unit as a chaos troops slot. Is that gone?

I know alot of people lament the passing of the Lost and the Damned (and rightly so), I think its really stupid of GW to close the door on something so in keeping with their own fluff!

The only way around it.....and certainly a very poor substitute, would be to use "Chaos" Imperial Guard!! I guess that would be acceptible, as any IG detachment coud turn rogue....take them as Allies for your Chaos Marine army....

Man down, Man down....

Since the release of the 4th Edition Chaos Space Marines Codex, The Lost and the Damned List in the Eye of Terror Codex has been deemed illegal for official gaming purposes.

I'm not really sure about the whole Chapter Approved Alpha Legion Cultists thing (And why it's Alpha Legion that can take cultists, and not The Word Bearers, more famed for their giant meatshield cults than any other Chaos army), but it still goes that you can't field an army of heretics any longer. I guess you could get creative in a game of Apocalypse and field a bunch of converted Counts As IG along with a Chaos Army, but it really is a sad substitute.

Arbites...I use them as Imp Guard squads. Mostly with my penal legion platoon, you know, MP's. Also, I still use them in Necromunda. I use my malitia frateris as Inquisitor henchmen.

Buy Imperial War Bonds!!!
I play: 30,000+ points and growing
: 5,000+ points
: 10,000+ points
: I'll never tell...
: Necromunda
: And yes I even play Squats!

IIRC in the Witch Hunters codex, it says you may use Inquisitorial Stormtroopers as Arbites, albiet replacing the Hellguns with Shotguns.

So they're armed with light armor, riot shield, and shotgun?

Lost and the Damned now have an Apocalypse formation available here

BoLS have an unoffical Arbites mini-dex here

The Eye of Terror Codex had Lost and the Damned, Ulthwe Craftworld, 13th Company and Cadian army lists in, but is deemed unofficial these days.
