Subject: Space wolves?

In 5th Edition are Space wolves Still useable other than a color scheme? They still sell Blood claws and everything but they don't have a seperate codex. I'm really thinking about playing SW if they are still a useable codex because they look like they would make a good melle range mix.

Actually, they're pretty sick right now, because they get 5th ed wargear (read 3++ Stormshields) at 3rd ed prices, and lots of stuff like that within the codex.
Of course, it'll all go away when the new space wolf dex is released.

Thanks I was just wanting to see if you could be space wolfs. Is thier anything special about them though I want to know. Is thier anything special about blood claws?

they get 2 extra attacks for charging or something like that.

Thanks for the help this has really put me tward getting space wolves. One last thing does the space marine codex cover SW or do I have to wait for the codex?

Hey after looking through GW it don't really seem like thier's much about them thier. Is thier a site that has some good info/fluff about them or should I just go and buy a SW book?
Plus how would I get thier codex and how old is it?

the space wolf codex is quite old and and is rumored to be getting replaced within the next year.
codex space wolves references the regular codex SM book a lot so you will need both. you could probably get codex space wolves for next to nothing off of ebay.

I joined just to put this in here, you can email canadian mail order and get them to email a copy of the space wolves codex. It's only a photo copy but it beats paying for a codex thats going to be replaced soonish.
and my wolves are goin very well in 5th, the new counter attack rule is great
