So once again it's time to bore everyone in dakka with my ramblings in a new topic. I just started going to this flgs and I'm still new to Warmachine/Hordes, but some friends want to try and break me in by doing a 750pt battle for Hordes. Since I'm not that great with lists, I figured I would see what all you guys think first.

Krueger
Woldwarden
Warpwolf
Warpwolf
Tharn Ravengers (6/6)
Tharn Bloodtrackers (10/10)
Druids of Oboros (6)
Shifting Stones
Blackclad Wayfarer

This puts the list at 730pts. Krueger and the Woldwarden can handle most infantry, along with the Ravengers walking through most units. The Bloodtrackers are a favorite and gain boosted attack and damage rolls on prey. The Druids are new to me, but counter magic and The Devouring seems really good so I wont pass up a chance to play with them on this one. The Shifting Stones and Wayfarer seem to flow with the list. Storm Beacon will allow my warbeast to run or charge for free, and Shifter can set up flanks with the Wayfarer to cast Wilding on a unit.

Be honest, be brutal, thanks..

I'd play that list. The only thing I would change is adding the Shaman to the Ravagers unit. Drop a Bloodtracker, and you should have enough points.

Thanks oomie, I was starting to think that no one else cared.

The Shaman is a beast and you're right, I should have him in there. I was also thinking of maybe dropping the Bloodtrackers to a unit of 8. Replace the Wayfarer and Shifting Stones with a White Mane and Sentry Stone.

Ravengers and the White Mane can see through forest, have pathfinder, and all gain +2 DEF will in one.. So the Sentry Stone may come in handy by popping off the Mannikins for woods. The only thing it would really slow down would be my Warpwolves, so I might take just one and take a Gnalhorn in place of one. So this is another list I'm looking at

Krueger
Woldwarden
Warpwolf
Gnarlhorn Satyr
Tharn Ragengers (6/6)
Tharn Ravenger Shaman UA
Tharn Bloodtrackers (8/10)
Tharn White Mane
Sentry Stone

This will hopefully slow down who ever i'm playing against, and allow me to use my speed. The Gnarlhorn is a really nice model and I want to try and use him. Since he charges 11" I think this would be the best list to give him a go, counter charge will help alot to given the terrain I hope to create.

Let me know about this one, which is better and all that goodness...

Looks good to me. I like the mix of Heavies you've got there. Personally, I'd try and squeeze in a Woldwyrd, but it's not absolutely necessary.

Remember that you can bounce your Forked Lightning off of Manikins in the event that you face an anti magic force, like Druids or Doom Reavers. The Sentry Stone just has an amazing amount of uses.

I'll be playing against 2 friends. One will play Menoth, which I dont know much about, and the other will be Trollbloods... and I know them too well.

I didn't think of that Loki. I'll keep that in mind also. I own a Woldwyrd, just didn't see where to fit him in. Both the Gnarlhorn and Warpwolf are fury 4, and the warden is 3 so I didn't want to over-load myself with "when warbeasts attack" and end up on the nature channel...lol.. j/k.

I think I'll go with the second list... seems more balanced for everything. Thanks.

If you don't get any posts about a list, it's good. At least, that's my take on it.

I think you forgot to include the Druids in your new list.

I'd go with the second list, but I would consider swapping the White Mane for a Blackclad. The White Mane is an awesome beatstick and can make your Ravagers do more damage, but the Blackclad is a Commander, has a spray attack, and can make your models charge at SPD+5. This change isn't necessary, but it is something worth thinking about.

Oomie, you have a great point. SPD+5 is too great to pass up for the low points cost.

Oops, I did leave out the Druids on the second list.

Okay, last time

Krueger
Woldwarden
Warpwolf
Gnarlhorn Statyr
Tharn Bloodtrackers (8/10)
Tharn Ravengers (6/6)
Tharn Ravenger Shaman UA
Druids of Orboros (6)
Sentry Stone
Blackclad Wayfarer

I feel really good about myself since this is really the first list I've put together other then a simple 350pt game with just warbeasts.

Thanks guys.

@ Oomie, yeah, you're right. I left out the Druids.

The Blackclad is too good to pass up. I'll keep him instead of the White Mane.

List looks good. Can't wait to throw my Cryx at it... (Oh, and I'll be getting 500 points of Skorne too.) Sounds like we'll have some fun this friday.

Not to be too off topic, but have they sneaked any epic Kreugar info yet?

Kruger loses a point of fury but keeps his great MAT in his shift to epic status. He also loses both Lightning Tendrils and Forked Lightning. Instead, he gets a spell called Wurm's Wrath which grants every friendly model in his control area a ranged lightning attack (channeling his electrical power through the allies of the Wurm.)

His feat is now what Forked Lightning used to be.

((NOTE: I'm making all of this up. No info's yet been leaked... At least, Battlecollege still doesn't have anything on him.))

There was some info from someone on the PP forums saying he wasn't as good as the original. It seemed really sketchy to me, though.

Ummm.. well I do kinda hope he keeps Forked Lightning, I'll be as mad as a hornet if he doesn't.

I wouldn't have a reason to keep my Woldwarden then, or a reason to really field him..

@Exile, Great MAT? WTF? Where on earth would you get that idea? lol... I do admit that he's great for caster kills.. Boost to hit, now P+S 12 and auto hits with 6 Fury left.. Can be pretty nasty.

I laugh at Skorne... HA HA HA.. just kidding. We'll throw down I'm sure. I want to take a swing at Mr. B though real bad. Him and Bob are the ones that wanted the 750pt game.

If I'm allowed to suggest something... If you drop the Satyr you'll have poins to include Woldwyrd, Shifting Stones and a White Mane. Two heavies are fair enough and Wyrd's animus is a great tool in Circle's arsenal. Especially if you're going to face Protectorate army with their love for support upkeeps.
Shifting Stones are great for some surprise manouvres, teleporting Wayfarer (if you play certain scenarios) and will help you keep Warden/Wyrd operational for a while longer.

Honestly, I think you'll need more than 2 heavies in a 750 point game. However, I do think he'll need the Wyrd for both PoT and Trolls... So, I'd propose this list:

LIGHTNING SPAM! (749/750)
Krueger
Warden
Warden
Warpwolf
Wyrd
Shifting Stones
Druids (with UA)
Farrow Bone Grinders (4)
Gattormen Posse (5)

Pretty standard Lightning spam list.

Your Lightning spam and Upkeep Killing Wyrd should destroy menoth troops with ease. Your heavies and superior infantry can mop up the jacks from 4" away (not to mention keeping our Menoth Player's favorite arc-node engaged.)

For trolls, your spam again mops up the Kreil Warriors. Druids won't help you much here... But they'll be a distractioin. When facing trolls, I'd sub the Druids out for their points worth of Ambushers. Their speed and ability to flank a Troll Brick would go a long way to picking Trolls apart. The Gattormen could also lay out a few swamps to slow down the brick in the face of your lightning spam, and force the trolls into the killing grounds of your choice. Not sure if your Wyrd helps here as I don't think the Trolls have very many upkeep spells.

The wolf works great in the list by adding a little speed and some melee hitting power.

ummm.. nahhh. I wont go cheese this early in the learning stage.

I love that this post got hot fast...

The Woldwyrd is an opition, I just dont see him in my play style. Plus, he's soft. When he gets charged by mostly anything, he's done. Although I could play two Woldwardens. The Druid UA is great (or at least he is on battlecollege) I just haven't had time to play-test him.

We'll see what happens.

Thanks for the posts everyone.

Based on WM epics:

Same Fury. Nearly same stats, maybe a little more DEF or ARM.
Keeps 1 spell, and it's his non-signature spell.
Feat gets watered down, becomes a spell.

Considering Krueger is one of the most feared locks (if not the most feared), I don't see how his epic version can go anywhere but down.
