Hi all.

Have been looking through apocalypse book, spoted vortex missile and started looking at the old epic books and am inspired.

question 1 - deathstrike missile launcher in 40K - thinking weaponless chimera armed with the vortex missile. Thinking 250 pts (base 50 pts for carrier, plus 200 as average points it would take out) thoughts? to high/low?

2) - in the same vien - any suggested rules for a 40k ordinatus?!!!

3) - is there a 'best' way to convert epic to 40K (points wise, weapons/rules it pretty straightforward). The Chaos Banelord is pretty represntative in both and in 40K costs just over 5 times the points, yet things like a stompa are far greater in ratio - a 40K stompa is not going to be 150pts so the 1-5 ration doesn't work. Any ideas or is this an unsolvable question and we have to hope GW realease more datasheets?

Epic is a completely different game. While there is an attempt at consistency in terms of ranges, the way things work is not comparable, thus you can't simply scale the points.

i'd gathered that, just wondered if others use some of the tanks and if so how you work out points, what would you gauge it against etc.

You're basically just going to have to fly by the seat of your pants, there just isn't a perfect way to do it, then get the permission of your opponent to use it.

See the Bell of Lost Souls. They've pointed up a lot of the Epic warmachines for Apocalypse, including all three Ordinatii and the Deathstrike (ca. 400pts)
