Hey guys, I am making some scratch built ork battle wagons from old 1/35 tank models. I ran into a bit of a problem with one though: the tank treads were missing from the kit.
Does anyone know a decent source for getting extras? They don’t have to be GW or anything, or even really the “right” treads for the tank, but none of the local stores seem to sell extras, and the The Warstore doesn’t sell track sprues that I saw.

Any IG player has a significant amount of spare treading lying around, as the Chimera chasis & Russ chasis include the same tread sprue, but don't use (all of) the same pieces. No clue if the scale and/or appearance is of interest to you.

Here you go:
http://www.hlj.com/hljlist2/?MacroType=TrkSet&Scale=35&searchpage=Miltop&Dis=-2&GenreCode=Mil
Thats a link to a basic search on that site but you might be able to find something more specific depending on what you need.

If you know any IG or Armoured Company players they're bound to have extra GW tracks. Other than that I think Tamiya has some track kits. Verlinden would be a bit over the top as far as price goes but it's another option too.

[edit]looks like 0079 and Janthkin have beat me to the punch! You've won this round sirs![/edit]

King Cracker: I picked it up for 10$ from a local store. Between that and the fact it is a Mattel model from 1969, I figured I would just see about getting treads for it, since I figure sooner or later I will need more for scratch builds.

Janthkin and Co.: Good to know! The Russ treads are -just- wide enough to fit over the tank wheels. I had thought about using those, but they seem a little narrow for a tank that is nearly the size of the LandRaider. I was wondering how the Imperial treads worked out though... I will bear this info in mind!

0079: I don't suppose there is a "Hobby Link USA" is there? Or does AFV Club sell in the states?

Academy Plastics 1/35 Tiger I Treads: These treads are about an inch wide. Should be perfect for you. I bought my kits from Tower Hobbies - their navigation is a bit difficult, but this link should take you to the kit.

Stock number is: LX0315

They do ship to the US, I've used the site before at it was surprisingly speedy at shipping it out with tracking and all. I would recommend paying via paypal.

Awesome, thanks guys!

Necros: I might hit you up for those, but first I want to try and get some that are a little more to scale. The Chimera/LR tracks just seem a tad narrow and dainty compared to the tank (I had a few sections lying around as bits and tested.)

Speaking of which, where are you living/playing these days? You used to be down by Philly, right?

My wife buys anime garage kits from HLJ as well; no hassle at all, and much easier than, say, Forgeworld.
