So, evidently Rackham's reformation is a good thing for the company and it's gaming communities. Is anyone still seeing AT-43 as a widely played game, or has it been relegated to the dustbin of history?

It gets played down at my local LGS. The other games I play suck up all my money so I don't play myself.

Its a bit early to see if the new transition has helped or harmed AT-43.

When FFG distributed AT-43, it was easier sailing in the states to find games and buy products, but as of right now it is uncertain where its going.

as for myself, there is a fairly minimal amount of interest in AT-43 in the twin cities. But interest nonetheless.
Especially when compared to other TTG's, I dont think it is doing too badly. Not great but it could be far worse.
I see more people playing AT-43 than I ever did see anyone play warzone during its height of popularity, so when taken in that regard, not too bad at all.

It pretty much died at my FLGS. Everything is discounted to get rid of it.

I haven't played in a good while. Its weird. I've got a crap ton of models sitting on the shelf, but the fact that R stopped coming out with anything new and all the shinanikins was just a complete buzzkill for me and all my group. It isn't logical but it is what happened. I haven't felt the desire to play the game since Easter last year really, and haven't bought anything new since Christmas 2007.

Maybe once (if) new models start appearing in my LGS again I may find the desire to play again. It's pathetic and shallow I know, but I get so little time to play these days and there are so many options to choose from there's really no need for me to play anything I'm not absolutely bursting to.

I was all set to allocate all my Star Russians to the bitzbox/conversion fodder shelves. Now am not so sure. My FLGS where I USED to play just imploded as well, so I am thinking about it hard.

I don't know. The close FLGS doesn't seem to have many people interested. And the far
FLGS is too far for me to bother checking for anything but Warmachine/Hordes these days.

I think it would have worked IF they'd got the price point a little better, and IF they hadn't stuffed up on the (lack of prompt) distribution.

Time will tell if R Ents can resurrect it from the graveyard of player apathy now the buzz has been killed...

It'll be an uphill job as so many former fans now distrust the R brand name totally.

That is a sad fact I am witnessing.

I personally don't see it as a fad, because IMO AT-43 is one of the best of the popular wargames if not the best.
But I do see a lot of people becoming disenfranchised with R.

What hurt the game the most in my area was the lack of model you could build, because there is a disproportionate amount of 'hobby snobs' in the twin cities area.
I use the term hobby snobs with a touch of affection, because these people are really damned good at their hobby and I can see why they turn their nose at prepaints.
When you have people like bennet doane and dylan gauker to name just a couple of fine hobbiests here basically mock the models at every turn, it doesnt give a lot of credibility to the game. But that is no fault of R's, or atleast not totally R's fault, but more of the mentality of locale.

Hopefully, the proposed inclusion of actual kits for the game will draw many people into the fold who would have not have touched the game previously. It would be nice to see Bennet paint up a squad of Red Blok walkers.

But again, as has been said many times in this thread, time will only tell.

Kits? Hmmmmm. I used to like playing that game, but jesus I am kinda glad to have my gaming systems thinned out a bit. My wife will never let me get rid of them.
