750 pt. eSkarre vs. eKaya

oomiestompa deployed first, and put his Druids with his Wolves w/ UA on one flank with a Feralgeist, and
eKaya and beasts on the other (Gnarlhorn, Warpwolf, Pureblood Warpwolf, Gorax) with the
honeypot guys (can't remember their name)

I played arc nodes on both flanks, Leviathan by eSkarre near center, and faced off against his
Druids and Wolves with Soul Hunters and Darragh Wrathe.

He advance deployed Standing Stones, one on each flank.

I placed the Deathjack midfield, but not all the way up (mistake 1) and my Satyxis facing
his infantry, also not all the way up (mistake 2). For some reason, I was afraid of the
Standing Stones when really I should have started all up in its face.

He started off by screwing with my Deathjack by stealing Skull of Hate focus and then
boosting the Root attack of a little guy. Did some stuff with eKaya, antimagicked up his
Druids and ran the Wolves up. eKaya casted the warbeast stealth spell and Forced
Evolution on his Pureblood.

Deathjack got two skulls of hate focus and I fed him 2 more. I gave the Leviathan 1 for
a run and kept five focus (I think). Deathjack moved 4", casted Blood Rain at eKaya, oh
look automiss, friendly scatter 5" toward kaya, and I get to corrode 3 targets. Yay!

Leviathan runs, Sea Witch brumes and runs the unit forward, but not too forward. Wrathe
Death Rides some Soul Hunters.

Circle Turn 2

Kaya leached and upkept Forced Evolution on the Pureblood. My SENTRY Stones spawned two more Mannikins.

Since Malf used all of his focus, my Stones couldn't steal any magic. Still, one Mannikin was able to Splinter Burst and kill one Satyxi and the other went to go screw with the Deathjack again by stopping just outside of its Necrovent cloud and turning into a forest.

My Wolves popped their mini-feat and charged. They killed 2 Satyxis and 1 Soulhunter and then regrouped around the standard bearer. The Druids fired off a Devouring, killing one Satyxi on the scatter.

The Pureblood advanced and tried to Warp Strike the Deathjack and missed. The Warpwolf followed it. The Satyr moved towards the center. Gorax and Feralgeist moved up. Laris stayed in the forest he was hiding in. Kaya advanced behind her wedge o' beasts and cast Mist Walker again.

Cryx Turn 2

Skarre allocated 1 to the Deathjack and upkept Death Ward.

The Deathjack moved towards the center of the table, juuuust out of Counter Slam range, and cast Black Spot (?) on the Wolves. The Leviathan shot at the Wolves and missed. A Deathripper advanced and Skarre arced Blood Ritual, killing one Wolf, and cast Seas of Fate.

Wrathe farted around and cast Death Rider on the Soulhunters. The Soulhunter then charged the Wolves. This time, one of them ended up in Counter Slam range. The Satyr slammed a Soulhunter into another Soulhunter, killing the first and knocking the second down. One Soulhunter killed 3 Wolves, including the Standard Bearer then the Soulhunters Shadow Rode out of there. Then some Satyxis charged and killed 2 more Wolves while the rest ran, and 2 engaged my Druids. The Wolves were down to the original unit leader and the officer and passed all applicable CMD checks.

The other Deathripper moved closer to Skarre.

For some reason I'm blanking on the middle game. I know at some point I decided to collapse
the right flank (Deathjack vs. eKaya and beasts) and start pushing left. I do know Deathjack ate
it somewhere at this point.

I guess that means I have to finish this. Malf, you had already abandoned your right flank at this point. The only thing on that side was the one Deathripper. I know I'm doing this report in a very dry fashion, but I'm at work and don't really have the time to go into tactical thoughts.

Circle Turn 3

Kaya leached and upkept Forced Evolution. Sentry Stones spawned 2 Mannikins.

There was no magic to Devour with the Sentry Stones. The Mannikin on my left flank charged the lonely Deathripper and missed, and the Mannikin on my right flank charged the Sea Witch in the back and wasted her. The Wolves charged and killed another Satyxi. The one engaged Druid whiffed on a Satyxi, and the rest of the Druids missed their Elemental Bolt shots on the Satyxis.

Laris ran down my left flank. Kaya feated and charged the Deathjack, doing a little damage, and teleported over to Laris. She spent all of her Fury. The Pureblood forced for Ferocity then charged the Deathjack, almost finishing it off (It would have if I remembered the +2 STR from Forced Evolution), then teleporting to Kaya. The Warpwolf charged the Deathjack, disabled it in one swipe, used its other initial attack and chain attack to finish it off, and teleported over to Kaya. The Gorax teleported over to Kaya. The Feralgeist and Bonegrinders ran over to Kaya.

The Satyr charged and killed one Soulhunter and damaged another. It did NOT teleport.

Cryx Turn 3

Skarre upkept Seas of Fate and Death Ward and allocated 2 focus to the Deathripper on her right.

The Soulhunters killed the Mannikin by the Deathripper on the right, then moved over by Laris. Wrathe ran over to the center of the table.

The Leviathan shot at the Warpwolf and missed. The Deathripper tried to Slam the Pureblood and missed. Skarre shot something and missed; cast Blood Rain on the Warpwolf catching the Pureblood, Gorax, and Kaya in the blast; and popped her feat, making herself, Wrathe, the Leviathan, and the remaining two Soulhunters untargetable by enemy attacks.

Corrosion faded on the Gorax, but the Pureblood, Warpwolf and eKaya all took a damage
point.

The Satyr frenzied, and couldn't charge the nearest model due to eSkarre's feat. So he
headed toward my now abandoned left flank (gotta love fast troops). The honeypot crew
ran up and surrounded one of my Soul Hunters so he could not move next turn. The Gorax
used Primal on the Pureblood.

The Pureblood activated with Ferocity and trashed the Deathripper. eKaya healed 3 and
left two Fury for transfers. I don't know what she used her sixth Fury for. Upkeeping Forced
Evolution, I'm guessing.

The Warpwolf stayed back to block LOS.

Circle Turn 4

Kaya upkept Forced Evolution. Two more Mannikins spawned. The Satyr Frenzied into a Satxyi and killed her.

Kaya healed for 3. The Gorax put Primal on the Pureblood. The Pureblood forced for Ferocity and ripped apart the Deathripper that tried to Slam it. The Warpwolf manuevered so the Pureblood won't Frenzy on it. The Bonegrinders ran to trap one of the Soulhunters. The Gorax and Feralgeist stayed put.

The engaged Druid missed on a Satyxi. The others cast Devouring on the remaining Deathripper and missed but killed a Satyxi. One Mannikin charged the remaining Deathripper and missed. One Mannikin charged the unit leader in the back and killed her. One Mannikin whiffed on a Satyxi.

Cryx Turn 4

Skarre upkept Seas of Fate.

The Leviathan moved into combat with the Pureblood and missed. Wrathe missed a shot on Kaya. Skarre hit Kaya with Black Spot and Blood Ritual (?). 1 Soulhunter takes out Laris' Spirit, and the other kills 2 Bonegrinders. The Deathripped missed the Mannikin. The last Satyxi or two miss whatever attacks they made this turn.

Circle Turn 5

The Pureblood Frenzied on the Leviathan, hurting it pretty bad, but not taking out any systems. The Satyr Frenzied towards a Sentry Stone and hit terrain, failing the charge (I now realize the Sentry Stone was Invisible and could not be charged. It should have charged a Mannikin). 2 more Mannikins were born.

This is the part Malfred was talking about in the other thread. Kaya needed to kill Skarre. She had no focus, Elevation, and was hurt from her feat and upkeeping spells with her health instead of focus. The Warpwolf could kill her, but it had a wreck in the way. If Kaya hit Skarre with Dogpile, the Warpwolf would be able to ignore the wreck (and charge for free at SPD+5), but I needed a 12 to hit with the spell. So Kaya charged into melee with Skarre, boosted the attack roll, hit, and left her with 4 health. Rapid Strike missed. She cast Dogpile, only needing a 10 now, boosted, and hit. Sweet. Now the Gorax could put Primal on the Warpwolf, and the Warpwolf could charge and kill Skarre. But she had two Fury left so, what the hell, she'll swing again and boost to hit. Kaya hit and killed Skarre with that last attack.

You don't suck, malf. But I am surprised you never cast Admonition.

I forgot. Second time using eSkarre.

I'm thinking admonition on DeathJack early on, and Advance Deploy both him and
Satyxis closer to the Sentry Stones would have made more of a fight.

The only times I ever beat you is

1. You forget something tricky about a model of mine.
2. Kreoss

Ah well. My inability to win games with my tactics just shows me that the game
requires actual tactics
