Hi - I've recently started using the gallery, and it's great. There's just a few things in the system which make uploading Battle Reports (for example) really hard.

The gallery system deletes the filename when you upload. I know you can rename each picture in the picture editing page, but could the default name of the picture be the image filename?

Say you upload 7 pictures named 'Map of Turn 1' through 'Map of Turn 7'. When you come to use them, the dakka image system has deleted the filename and you have to go through, figuring out which image is which turn. Equally, say you upload 30 images from your camera. You know they're in order because your camera numbers them 'DSC001' through 'DSC030'. This order is lost once you upload!!

Unfortunately the file must be renamed as the naming process is important in the structure of the gallery. If I didnt rename the files in the way that I have, then we would lose the ability to cluster the gallery as it grows and it would all come crashing down in the future. Sounds unlikely, but I cheated by using the file name as a limited datastore which allows me to make all kinds of efficiency boosting shortcuts. The images should at least appear in the order that you upload them though, so I'll have a think about getting that sorted out.
