Wraithguard are fearless and have the fearless USR, according to the BRB they confer fearless to any Independant Character that joins the squad. What happens when you attach a warlock to the squad? Does the squad become fearful since the warlock isn't fearless?

Just trying to figure out if its legal to pin a wraithguard unit with the lash of torment.

I read it in the following manner:
P1) The unit entry covers the unit.
P2) The warlock upgrade is part of the unit.

C1) The whole unit, including the Warlock, is Fearless.

Since the Warlock upgrade is part of the unit and not an IC, the whole unit is fearless. The other question, the one you did not ask, is what happens when a Farseer joins the unit? The Farseer is an IC that is not Fearless. In this case, the Farseer also becomes Fearless due to the USR being one of those that benefits ICs.
