I was wondering if it was possible to make an auto save feature for the article section of the website.

So I spent the last couple hours typing up a spiffy new article:

"So you want to Play Eldar"

I was just starting to finish things up by linking pics and firefox crashed! So needless to say my article is toast..... If I had any for site I would have typed it in a .Doc and copy and pasted it into dakka, but as it stands it was a spur of the moment type thing.

Well maybe on my next day off I will retype it.

Thanks!
Chris

That sucks, I'm sorry. I'll add autosaving to the articles when we revisit the articles functionality in about 6 months time.

While it does suck really bad that you lost your article can I suggest a couple of things?

1) Don't wait until you're finished writing your article to submit it. I know its fun to unveil it all nice and pretty and done but realistically its a good idea just to get a draft posted and then keep editing it up from that point. That way if you suffer some sort of power failure, etc. you'll only lose a small portion of work as opposed to the whole article.

2) You can also use a word processor (like Microsoft Word) to type up your article once you figure out the basics on how the wiki system works and the just paste the whole thing into the article entry field at once. I know this take a bit of learnin' first, but even if you just type out all the text first in a word document and then do the formatting in the article entry field you still won't lose the whole thing if you get a crash.
