Okay, after watching Death Race 3K, I spazzed. I just HAVE to buy a tanker truck and convert it for my chaos cutlists/renegades to use in Apoc.

Here is some images. After that Apoc Rules (rough draft) I have for it. As well as (whats important) ideas on the 40k bits needed... I really need input on the truck model if anyone has an idea, as well as if anyone has better ideas for bits.








REAL weapon wise... I see:
- 6x rocket launcher
- a 50cal pintle
- a dual 50 cal pintle on the cab
- a 20mm AA gun inside with flame thrower (between the barrels)
- M1A2 turret with 120MM a cannon on rear with a pintle 50 cal
- smoke launchers as well on the body, with lots of extra armor
EDIT: I missed some guns! Two miniguns in each side of the cab.

So, I would say...
Rules wise
The Truck

- Havoc Rocket Launcher
- Heavy Stubber Pintle
- Twin Linked Heavy Stubber on the Cab
- Twin Linked Auto-Cannon with co-ax Heavy Flame Thrower
- Battle Cannon w/ Pintle Stubber
- Smoke Launchers & Extra Armor
EDIT: Heavy Bolters in the sides of the cab


Fast Super Heavy (using a slightly larger model since 40k scale weapons tend to be bigger...its a looted/converted heavy chem-truck from a hive!)
Armor
14-11-12 (Plow/Cab - Sides - Rear Turret)
2x Structure Point (Cab & Trailer)

Special Rules:
May move 6'' and fire all weapons (super heavy)
Fast: Capable of moving 12''

On The Move - This Truck is always on the move and stops for no one! Spray and pray tactics apply - All Weapons may be able to fire while moving more than 6'' - Battle Cannon is an exception and may not fire.
This rule is applicable even during ramming or going flat-out on a road. -
Roll a D6
On a 1: Two Pintle weapons are stable enough to fire at BS2
On a 2-3: All weapons are stable enough to fire at BS2
On a 4-6: All weapons are stable enough to fire at BS3

The Plow - This plow is big and good for ramming! -1 on damage taken during ramming, the plow takes the brunt of the blow during ramming.


Bits wise... IG stubbers and autocannons out the wazoo, rear will be a leman turret which i have a spare of, havoc launcher up top.... extra armor will all be plastic-card works or sprue-cuts for spikeyness. This will likely look very orky, but so does most Technicals, no?

Opinions? Do this project? Yes/No? Suggestions on model to use/bits to use? Color schemes? Rule opinions?

This sort of thing might be a good start or do you want a model rather than a toy?!?!
This thing could be a b@stard to convert. Might not be too bad once you skin it with plasticard.
Might be too small for Orks/Marines but you may get away with it for guard/chaos guard.

yea look online for some semi truck sites. that one on ebay is die cast and might be a little tough to work with. that being said......
HOLY FRIGGIN FRACK!!! thats an awesome idea! I see alot of Orky-ness in that puppy as well. that would easily be a super awesome gun trukk. good idea man

I know! When I saw that, I was like, SERIOUSLY, whoever was their art director for that thing's design plays Orks. Lol.

Might be a few weeks before I get around to it. I plan ideas way ahead of doing them.

if I cant find a truck that works, I'll be buying the new ork battle wagon and making a trailer for it, cutting it up A LOT, and going from there, but I'd prefer not to.

Cant wait to see how this turns out, i found an "old" model semi of my dads from way back when , i started this same project about two weeks ago, when i get some pics ill start my own thread to show some progress. Good Luck!! this will be a painstaking process

I bought two 1/35 1970 Trans-Ams, a 1969 El Camino, and a 1960-something Duster on clearance with the thoughts of converting them up to Ork trukks like this...

I'm picturing that thing with chaos emblems scratched and painted onto it with the heads of civilians spiked onto the hood and crazy-eyed, frenzied heretics spraying heavy bolter fire from the sides... I'm afraid this is too awesome an idea for me to not steal. Seriously though, I say go for it, and show us a picture of it when it's done.

Please do steal it, so I can counter-steal it. LOL, I likely won't begin for a month or more. Unless I suddenly get this "omg do it now" motivation.
