After scraping together 3 full SoB squads, I'd like to also include 'female' StormTroopers which seem to be a decent troops choice for a WH army. I know new plastic ST are being released in March and I'm doubtful if any of them will be female. So I'm wondering if anyone else has put together some female StormTrooper models and what figures were used in making them. I've got a box of Cadian that I could do some converting on but I wanted to see what anyone else has done. Personally I like the idea of the Arbites but that's in the same boat. Just show me what you've got or done or recommend. I'm even up for some good non-GW figures to represent what I want.

What about mixing cadian parts (shoulderpads, helmeted heads, backpacks, hands, and possibly boots) with Eldar Guardian parts (torsos, bare heads that look "feminine" enough, arms, and legs)? I'm not sure how well these kits would combine, but I think the Eldar kit contains some (I'm not sure how many) armor pieces that are clearly made for female troops.

I think the difficulties would lie in getting enough of the female parts, and in making them look more Imperial than Eldar. Removing the gems and covering up some of the more organic-looking parts of the armor (like the abdominal "muscles") with plasticard plates might help.

the Eldar torso idea isnt a bad one. They m ight actually fit together good enough. If you do a search on here youll find more thena few people that have done female guardsmen and the like. Some of them are rather good too. Also theres a website.. I cant think of the name off the top of my head but they make a bunch of female minis. some are called like "babes with guns" and things of that nature. somebody on here will know the site name

Wouldn't they look the same as male storm troopers? Between the carapace armor and the helmets, it would really only apply to the sergeants with bald heads.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

Ask Doctor Thunder.

I know he'll be able to tell you what to do.

Yeah, I saw the work Doc Thunder and his group did. Awesome stuff. I wouldn't have any problem using either the existing Stormtroopers or waiting for the plastic ones. As someone here stated, it's not like you're going to be able to tell the sex underneath the carapace armour. Honestly I think even the Cadians w/ a head swap would be fine with maybe some minimal GS work on the chest plate. 'Minimum' not...over exaggerated. I'd likely have a harder time turning the lasguns into Hellguns. But a squad w/ all Shotguns would be awesome on the Arbite end of things.

I've seen the female Eldar used in various mods that have come out nicely for other female troops. I've got some DE sprues still, I'll check the female portions there against the Cadian bits to see how that may work.

I think you should avoid it for female storm troopers, i mean seriously with that much armour you would not be able to tell what gender they are, head swaps would be more important if you wanted to show women.

I mean personally height and a slightly more slight look is more important then the torso is.

After all no offense to these ladies but can you really see 'female curves' in all that stuff. And this is only a portion of the armour you would expect storm troopers to wear.

The only real visible difference between a male stormie and a female one would be a few inches in height...and even that is not 100% certain.

Straight-up Cadians are one thing - I can see slimming a few parts of the body down for females.

But models in carapace will be more or less indistinguishable gender-wise.

Armor hides gender characteristics you'r best bet is making the shorter/slimmer and peraps some hair showing from under the helmet.

What's the intended result here? Are you going for a mixed-sex unit of stormtroopers, or an all-female unit devoted specifically to supporting the Sisters? If it's to be mixed, then I'd agree that they'd probably look best with armor that masks most of the differences. If it's an all-female unit, it seems like stylized, distinctly female, armor would get that point across better, as well as combining better visually with the Sororitas (given that they walk around in stuff that looks a like a cross between a nun's habit and plate-mail lingerie).

In a game all about styling, it is pretty odd to think that the females would look just like the males. This is a game sporting models with ridiculous OTT proportions to make a visual impact. Look at the size of gun barrels for Nurgle's sake!

Some minor GS work could add some breastguards to the torso (don't go too overboard or it will look weird, though). For heads, you will probably need to do some new faces for the helmets and some bare heads. I really like the old WHFB WE sorceress face and its easy to make a GS cast of that and then make face pieces. There are also some WE plastic heads that could work (but have the weird faceguard thing. Doing a mold of any female elf should be okay (they tend to have the best feminine sculpts) then just trim the ears. Consider casting the SOB heads, too, to keep theme.

I would slightly modify a standard Cadian torso to be female. Some group made casts of female IG parts, the torsos could fit for what you are doing, though the legs and heads are kinda exaggerated. Keep in mind that carapace armor isn't a t-shirt, it is going to conceal most signs that there is a female underneath. (but at least you aren't giving power armor marines boobs... or terminators...)

All good info...and I do agree that the armor will hide most of the sex of the model beneath it. I have so many SoB to paint atm I'll likely wait for the plastic ST's to be released then do a head swap on the Sgt if it's still unhelmeted.

I've never really thought of doing a GS mold of the SoB faces...that's an interesting concept and might would work well for the IG Cadians. Looking at that sprue last night, there's just no way to pass those faces off as female... well..not decent looking females anyway.

LoL...love the suggested minis above from Copplestone, though I'm not sure where I'd use the one w/ the beach ball

I used some SM Scouts as the base for my Inq storm troopers. I added the bare Immolator pilot's head and shaved the rather prodigious cod peice down. Worked out pretty well I think.

Those bra and pants girls are from Foundry actually, but nevermind that. I have a much better solution:

Olleys armies female scrunts!

oh dont you worry, Copplestone does bikini girls with machine guns too, a few packs of them in fact!

Ya just ought to contact the micro art studio guy, he has some great heads so far. All he has to do is a sprue or two of unhelmeted female heads and hes in there round these boards. SOme some soft caps / Barrets maybe a head thatis compatable with the empty Cadian Helmet...see where I am going.

Kev White has some female heads on his Hassel free site too!

Ok...I gotta admit those 'scrunts' (interesting word there) are cute little buggers. I just hope the caps have a good flat spot on top. I'm seriously tempted to get at least a 10 man squad of those and use them. Very tempted actually.
