First, let me say that so far I've been very pleased with the models PP has made. Second, the new Character Warbeasts so far have been amazing. Mulg for Trollbloods, and the Typhon for Legion of Everblight.

I couldn't wait to see what the Skorne dug up out of the dessert, and what my Circle may have hidden in a deep forest somewhere.

Suprise to me, I looked on PP's site today and saw that the new Character for Skorne was already being pre-viewed. I looked at the model with a little bit of sadness...

Molik Karn is a Cyclops ( which is fine with me, the idea of a whole Cyclops army for Skorne will be a fun theme to build and play) but the model is terrible... IMHO... He looks completly wrong standing on a large base, the model looks static, and I honestly think he has two eyes... I could be wrong. I cant find another image to blow it up and take a closer look...

Anyway, this kinda hurts me (even though I do not play Skorne) because I feel like the people who do play Skorne are now cheated. I'm the type of person who plays with models I enjoy. And I cant say I would enjoy playing with Molik Karn... This also scares me a little bit since Circle will be the last to be shown... I'm worried that even though I love all the models available to me now, I wont like our Character Warbeast...

Fellow Skorne players, I wanted to hear what YOU have to say.. Anyone else feel the same? Have anything to comment on?

I love Molik

He has one eye. Though I guess in the land of the Cyclops, the
two eyed could be king...

I'm just very dissapointed with the model.. It's like PP got lazy when doing it...

Look at Mulg and the Typhon.. You can tell by the models that alot of time and effort went into the design and model.. Malik just doesn't look like he was given the same attention as the other two..

That's my $0.02 for you though...

It's all about personal taste.

I think that the typhon is ok, not great but good looking general hydra.

Mulg is utter piece of s**t, it's so ugly in my opinion that it should be banned.

And the skorne cyclops king is nice, not great but still a nice and fitting addition to the tyrants army. The details fit the skorne aesthetics and the pose seems to be three dimensional (it's hard to see from this angle).

All in all I'm pretty pleased that I selected skorne as my hordes faction, there has been few botched sculpts for the skorne so far.

I've found that it seems a lot of their models don't photograph well or they use the worst shots possible. I recently picked up the Khador battle box. Looking at it, I didn't like the models, but when I looked in the display case at my FLGS, there were the models standing tall and much more impressive than how they appeared on the box. Maybe once you see the model in the blister you'll have a change of heart.

I like Karn. The only character warbeast I don't like so far is Typhon. It's a Teraph with 3 heads. Honestly, I think the Carnivean is more imposing. But...

I've found that to be the case with a lot of PP's models. Thagrosh, IFP, and bunch of others look better in person than on the website. That's why I still have hope for Epic Krueger and why I might be wrong about Typhon.

They also look better painted.

Depends on the paint job. I got some 2nd edition Orks for cheap a while back. Believe me when I tell you that bare metal would be a better look for them.

I also like the new Cyclops fig, but I'm used to looking past the PP official pic and assuming the figure is much better than previewed.

Maybe it's just me then. He just looks like a Savage with two Falchions, and on a large base..

I guess I expected something more... Maybe a huge scorpion, or a giant, or another Titan..

Maybe it's his poss for the picture like the rest of you said.. Still, I think they could have had him rushing forward or something.. All of the Skorne warbeasts look like they are just standing, or walking straight up..

I'm probably worried for no reason.... but I bet Circle will get a Beaver King or something.... lol wouldn't that be fun.

What your missing about the Skorne is that they ARE a standing army. They're slow, they stay in formation, and they wear the same armor. Discipline breeds uniformity. Of course their models look somewhat the same and slightly static. The cataphract all have the same armor, the praetorians all have the same armor, the cyclopsi (more or less) all have the same armor.

What I was hoping for Skorne was a big Basilisk... What I got was a good second. Molik Karn looks good to me... Though I'd swap that head (and that stupid looking grinning mouth guard) out for a helmet any day.

Also, to whoever said Mulg looks like a piece of s**t: I'm willing to shell out some money so you can get your eyes fixed.

Seriously, that thing's f***ing BEAUTIFUL. The model alone makes me want to buy a troll blood army.

Well you can't argue taste issues, but what I see is imbalanced model with awful proportions. The hands, loin cloth and the hunch are way off and the middle body is so thin the thing looks like it can't support it's own weight. I like the dire trolls and most of the troops for trolls, but it seems that the new additions have been awful.

Okay, Skorne is a "standing" army because they stay in formation, march and blah, blah, blah, blah..

Makes it easy for me when I rush through them and while everyone is standing still, my wolves eat their heads....

Doesn't sound cool for Skorne does it.. They need something new!! They need different stances, with different poses, and more "attention" models. All the models look great, but again, here the "Character" warbeast is, and all he's doing is "pledge to Skorne" pose..

Everyone has different taste, but I'm sure most people would agree that the Skorne all look about the same.. Very static models.. good looking models, but would attract a larger group if they had a little something more.

Static?

Immortals are in the act of swinging. Very cool poses.

Cetrati are putting up their shields.

At least one of the Paingivers is whipping stuff.

The Agonizer.

To continue on malfs list

Titans Gladiator and Bronzeback charging on

Rhinodon shouting his challenge

Tyrant Xerxis, who is in the middle of swing

Skorne has different poses where they are needed. The standing army is in similar poses as they should appear to be disciplined troops.
