Nurgle Chosen Marine on a Palanquin
|
I have no pics of what my nurgle army looks like, but essentially the entire army is 2nd edition metal nurgle mini's with dark angels green lighted with rotting flesh, tin bitz, scab red weapons, and bolt gun metal on the guns. Its clean mostly. Only a dozen models have conversions done to them (guts, worms, postules on the head) etc... but all of them have skaven backpacks.
I'm running the dual lash sorcerers with wings like any typical chaos player, but.... I've been using proxy models for too long. I'm ready for something fancy. I took a quick look at ebay and came up relatively dry.
I saw some librarians that I could convert, I saw a really old slanesh rogue trader marine that looks neat, but its not really sorcerer material. I saw an amazing grey knight terminator lord, but it took me a few minutes to realize that while he was super cool with his cloak, and necklace of skulls.... he's still wearing terminator armor!! I also have the old school raptors and 2 of them have batwings, they look cool, but I'm not sure they pull off the "I'm a sorcerer of chaos" look that I want. So I'm lost on my little search.
What I want is something that that fits into my nurgle army without looking like some wacked demon, will fit in with my 2nd ed models, is a model that looks like it should have wings, and looks more like a sorcerer than anything else. It doesn't have to be a GW model. And I'm not adverse to light conversion work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Use lowerbody from the nightbringer necron model.
Wings from Tomb king birds
Ch. Sp marine body and head
or a torso and cool head you like.
Cut and model the cape a little so it looks tainted and old.
Glue all the rest and voila.
You'll have a master piece.
Not fully my idea saw a convertion like that for sanguinius once.
Butt was going to creat a lord for a friends nurgle army.
Maybe we can both post them and see each others creation.

Using the wings of the tomb king birds as already stated it's a good idea!
The body of a Thousand Sons sorcerer can work, with the head and sword swapped for a gak and a different, and more nurglish head...
With a bit of GS work and a good painting IMHO can come out really nice

What's his wargear? Just bolt pistol + force wep?
Why not use the wings from the possessed kit on a marine from the plastic 10 man squad with slaanesh asp champion head and the power sword?

I've pretty much decided to either use some old bat wings (metal ones that came off of I think the possesssed wings are good to use, I'll have to research the empororers children head, but sounds like thats a good idea. I'm concerned that the lower half of the night bringer body might be a bit big, though the model with no doubt its awesome.
Wargear is Wings, Force Weapon, Familiar, Bolt Pistol. I have a model that I'll use for the familiar, looks like a demonic little humoclous ( dnd mini)
What do you guys think of these wings? http://cgi.ebay.com/Micro-Art-Studios-Mechanical-Wings-Set-2-1_W0QQitemZ250362881722QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item250362881722&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1240%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

The emp children head i'm talking about comes with the most recent CSM 10-man plastic kit, on the accessory sprue. It's a non-helmeted head with some sort of bionic implant that extends up about 2 head lengths. The kit also comes with power sword and some other bits to customize a squad leader or HQ choice such as icons.
