***Please forgive my english, not my native language***

Hi, i'm going to start a marines army, with all mounted on bikes, attack bikes and maybe land speeders. So after some time thinking for a color scheme, i post here what it's camed out:

C&C are welcomed!

And i need some ideas about how base them...i have wondered a a dark, lavic surface to make colour contrast, or a wasteland, good for bikes, but maybe a bit too light and not enough contrasting in colors...

Now i have just finished to assemble the one that will be the Company Champion on bike, and i think he would be a rather...cool character ^^

The color scheme looks nice.

"I.. I know my time has come" Tethesis said with a gasp, a torrent of blood flowing from his lips.
"No! Hang on brother!!" Altharius could feel the warmth slip away from his dear sibling's hands

Tethesis's reached out his bloodied arm to Altharius's face.
"I..I have one final request"
Altharius leaned close to listen, tears welling in his once bright eyes.
"make sure th..they put my soulstone in a tank... it'll be... real fethin' cool"
"Yes, you're gonna be the most fethin' cool tank!!" burning hot tears streaked down Altharius's face, as he held his brother's soul in his grasp.

Looks great.

Are you considering using Khan? Your paint scheme is very similar to White Scars.

Or are you making a white Ravenwing?

2012 tourney record:
Eldar 18W-2L-5D Overall x4
Deathwing 21W-7L-6D Overall x4 Best General x1 Best Appearance x3, 19th place Adepticon 40k Champs.
Space Wolves 2W-0L-1D Best Painted x1

Armies:
1850+ pts. 3000+ pts. 2000+

40k bits go to my ebay... http://stores.shop.ebay.com/K-K-Gaming-and-Bits

I think i would play them mainly with the SM codex, so yes, Khan is the way!
I think Ravenwing makes a good bikes army, but IMHO in this kind of list the codex SM is a bit superior.

On and NOT, i'm not using the new SM codex to put inside an outflanking redemeer filled with stormshielded terminator, just bikes

But i'm using the Ravenwing bits because i find them much more enjoiable to see than plain bikes!

Now i have just to find a nice way to base the bikes! Oh well and paint 30+ bikes

The bone and gold work really nice together! I'm looking out for your speeders, I bet your scheme will look really nice on them.

beautiful...
have you considered a road base? i think the gray would stand out and make the model color choice really show.

Lovely work, your marines make my marines look like they where painted by a 5-year old

Also, what about using a desert theme for the bases?

The probblme with a light bases is that on the table will probably makes all looks like undefined spots of yellow-ish brown and white.

I think a dark Base will do the job better, with an hard contrast that makes each bike resalting more.
IMHO marines are not people that cares mimetiziong or atleats not mine!

Beautifully done, the white and golden theme is very clean and crisp. So to contrast to the models, I would suggest a dark urban rubble theme for the bases, small pieces of razor wire and rubble and so on.

These are looking great.

As mentioned earlier the gold and white look really good.

I also agree with MeanGreenStompa... go for a dark and gritty basing to offset the light paintjob.

Your bone color comes out very smooth with very rich golds and reds. Great work and great color scheme. Keep it up and post more when you can.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

OK, here i'm againg with new WIPs, Stendard Bearer and Apothecary!
The arm of the SB is magnetized, to allow a better transport when the stendard will be finished.

Here the WIP of the stendard, scrolls needs to be completed!
I know that it may not fits exactly the traditional Space Marine's icoography, but if GW can justify that the Deathwing's Stendard is "a naked angel dead under a mountain that is hit by a thunder" i'm quite sure that with my moderate fantasy i can easily justify "a winged girl with a sword"...

As usual, C&C are welcomed!

Now because i want to keep the other two members of the command squad for later, i will wait for a friend that has some normal bike to sell me, to start doing some flat troop bikers, obviusly still with the winged front and "tail".

The colour is:

-White basecoat
-Bubonic brown
-Flesh wash
-Bubonic Brown (if you are in hurry you can skip this, but the next step would take a couple more layer of colour)
-Bleached bone+ Skull white 50/50
-Higlights of skull white, just a few of them.

Like the colour scheme, I think a dark urban base as has been suggested is the way to go for them. I look forward to seeing more of them.
