Im new here and im in abit of trouble you see i am 14 i get no allowence or anything My parents sometimes do spoil me with stuff though but i was wondering if any of you could etehr donate or let me buy some orc minis for a cheep price If you could i'd be much appreaciated thanks! GW is an expensive hobby, if you cant afford it now, why not try something else?

You know im 14 right? you cannot get a job at 14 atleast i think and im not begging for minitures im simply asking if i can get some at cheep prices or if someone would be kind enough to donate one they dont use or something like that. And as for the bumping i didnt know sorry :( but if this forum is gonan be mean to me liek the last 3 forums ive joined cause of this reason then i might as well wait for my friggin Birthday. :(

When i mean job i dont mean a government legal Job, i mean it can be doing chores for your parents
doing chores for your neighbors , your relatives etc etc etc.

Yes i know you are 14 , but that doesnt say much about anything. When im 14 im already a fully qualified swimming instructor with
actual classes ranging from 5 year old tots to 40 year old + adults.

Just saying there are lots of ways to make money if you want it enough.

Honestly, Dawn of War is your best bet. Miniatures are a hideously expensive and time consuming addiction. The computerized version should supply you with enough chainswords and Orky goodness until you are able to afford the hobby.

no one is being mean cyrus but if you want to post on a forum you better be prepared for what you get, whatever your age.

here are a couple of suggestions.

assault on black reach - at 50ish dollars its not all that cheap but if you could possibly find a friend you could split it and have two fair forces to get started with.

ebay - always deals on there, especially on the above mentioned black reach stuff. you can get squads of orks or marines for about 10 dollars each.

www.bartertown.com - a good trading/buying site. there are often good deals there.

one thing you are going to need to do though is learn to read forum rules. if you go to any site and break them then chances are the folks there are going to scold you. it will also help you understand how things work.

now i'd also like to throw www.thewarstore.com in there. this is a legitimate official store where you can buy things like single squads. i know i keep pushing orks and marines but due to the assault on black reach starter set these are probably the cheapest armies to get started with.

If i may suggest, talk to the GW store manager , explain your situation to him.

ask if you are allowed to leave a note / paper advertising * you want AOBR orks / marines.
Im sure between the employees and their known customer, you'll find lots in no time.

This is also alot more straightforward then online trading / buying. It would save you lots of grief
also S&H isnt exactly cheap on small trades.

Could you tell us abit on how did you get interested into warhammer ?
do you have any friends ready to start / take you into the game with ?

For what it's worth... If your parent's house is in foreclosure, a better use for your money would be to insist that they take it to pay the mortgage.

It's the mature (and right) thing to do.

Do babysitting, clean pool, wash cars, if you know anything nifty computer like, such as web design or programming (some people are talented in that area... I am not, but I knew someone who at age 16 was a master at it) anyhow, thats what I can think of off hand. BTW if you really work the car angle, you can do waxing and detailing (interior and exterior) and really make some serious green after a while.

You want to play the game, pay your own way. Don't beg, don't pander, and don't expect anyone to believe or care about your families problems. You're only interested in getting little metal/plastic men to slide across a table which you may not even have for much longer.

With your parents permission, check online resources like craigslist.org and businesses for work, ask family friends to see if they'll pay you to do chores (SAZZLEFRATS made several excellent suggestions, but don't stop there), and ---stay in school---. This is hobby is like a fight - don't start it if you can't finish it. From what you've written, you aren't finishing SQUAT.

and its orks, dreadnoughts and battlewagons are easy to build from scratch. i have friends that have built entire ork armies from scraps of card, plastic and a few boys the traded from friends

We were getting the free lunch @ school. Not only did I have a paper route, but so did my Mom & Sister. Before I was 16 I even found an "under the table" job fixing cars @ a local garage. So I what I'm saying is if you need money you'll do what you have to to make it & take care of your family & it will take care of you.

There are alot of good suggestions on here for ways you can make money, before I was legal age to work, I did alot of different things to earn cash. And remember that you don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on a huge army to start out. Try getting 50 bucks together for the Black Reach set, and you've got TWO armies to play around with!

In the OP you said you weren't necessarily looking for freebies, just good deals. As was stated before, try ebay, I got most of my army extremely cheap by waiting for good deals there. Also find a game store nearby and talk to the guys there, I'm sure they would be more than happy to help you get started.

I understand your desire to get into the game, and I would hope that you can find somebody at your local game store who will help you get started. But coming onto the forum and whining about your crummy circumstances just makes people who might potentially hook you up, become irritated with your manner and say forget it.

Allright im sorry for being whiney. Im sorry for being a little arrogant even.Basically im sorry for everything.
