Just curious if we will pick up any geographic similarities or if it ends up being random.

I think you see different armies at tournaments than you do for casual play a lot of the time.

So,

Whats the least played army at tournaments in your area?
This one seems to be IG these days from what I see.

Whats the least played army for casual games in your area?
The current league we are running has no guard and no chaos space marines.

Well, I'm in Barrie Ontario.

I think CSM's are about the most popular army here, followed closely by Space Marines.

I see Demons, Guard, Orks, Tau, Necrons, Eldar and even a couple of Grey Knights players.

Least common armies would probably be Dark Eldar and Witch Hunters.

I haven't seen any Dark Angels or Black Templars either, but I tend to lump them in with standard Space Marines, rightly or wrongly.

Space Marines. There are more people who play DE than Space Marines at my store.

Witch hunter definitely for my area . why?

i think the cost / metal aspect of the army makes it intimidating.

even Dark Eldar is more common ( can tell people buy them used for cheap ) .

probably DE. we seem to have a profusion of WH players (there are 5 people that have fully playable sisters armies at the store that i go to!)

Orks, by the numbers at the last little event I was at. Pre 2nd wave though.

Before tonight, I thought that Tau was the least played army in the area, tied with Sisters, followed by both flavors of Eldar (dark and light meat).

Tonight at my LGS league I decided to bring my fledgling Eldar army, because Last month everyone brought MEQs.

3 Eldar armies, and 2 Tau armies showed up, a 1000 point army that consisted entirely of two nob-biker squads and two warbosses also showed, 3 IG players, and 2 Space Marines. I really like my store, we've got a very diverse group of gamers.

Sisters are still totally off the radar, however, and only one player I know has a DE army.

daemons... i am the only one with a semi painted and built daemon force...

well there are three at my local hobby store

necrons tyranids and orcs
there is only one player besides me who play necrons, there are two that play tyranids and two that play orcs

i rarely see crons or DE, around 60% nid, 30% ork, and 10% everything else.

No Witch Hunters/Daemon Hunters and precious few IG here.

Least played in my area is orks and IG.

My club has about 15 members, of which 8 play SM.
The remainder are:
1 plays necrons.
1 plays tyranids
3 play eldar
2 play CSM

Definately Dark Eldar.

Between the two local stores, you see just about everything else.

Dark Eldar and Witchunters/Daemonunters.

We've got at least one of everything else.

I've actually seen a DE army or two at an Apocalypse event, and I saw Daemonhunters once, so I guess that makes SoB the least played around here.

Ive never played sisters of battle around me. but after that is DE. Like many others... only played them once

Necrons. Once I sold my army you never see them at the local shop. Same as Daemon Hunters.

Ditto here. Not a single known Eldar player to my knowledge. There used to be Eldarites, but they have all moved on, mostly to Marines.

Dark Eldar. I think they're in hiding.

In our neck ofthe woods i'd say IG are the least played army, I know at least one player for each other race including DH and SoB. I have a Gaurd army myself but I have not used it in 3 years.

The most played armies at my club are Tau* and Space Marines, followed closely by Chaos.

I've never seen anyone bring Dark Eldar or Sisters of Battle, although at least two people play Deamonhunters.


*Our club also seems to be a spawning point for Tau Online moderators, despite being relitively small.

It's still Orks around here. People are slow to switch to new armies and they were downtrodden for so long that they became forgotten.
