I have been looking around for a place that swaps, ideas and layouts for Sabol Trays. Having not yet found one I thought I would start one. Though there is a software out there that can help you make a layout, I think it would be far better to share in what some one else has already done. The following are 2 Layouts that use for my army transport, please fell free to use them and post your own.
Cost Sections is has two entries, Inches and Dollars. Inches is the total heights of the try divided by its capacity, and Dollars is the cost of the try divided by its capacity. Multiplying these number by your army should give you a rough idea of the minimum case size and cost.

The only problem with this is that it presumes a certain size/shape for all models.
Multi-part SM plastics, for example, might not have any 2 models that can be placed in the same space, leaving this template useless for pre-planning.

That second layout for heavy weapons is interesting, if I could fit my IG into it I would save a lot of space.

The Polito form is dead, insect. Are you afraid? What is it you fear? The end of your trivial existence?

I do a layout similar to your first one for my Heavy Gear minis. A 2x2 space with a singe block torn off one edge provides an adequate space for most minis but they can't bounce around too much.
