Well, the league is moving to 1000pts in February, so i am starting my 1000pt list now fortesting and fine tuning.

I have 3 different approaches I am looking at.

Hoping for the buggies to keep the armor and shooters occupied long enough for the boys to get there, then it is straight forward krumpin'.

Umm, I think 30/30/20 is better. Probably a KFF. With the freed points, Lootas instead of Buggies: a buggy isn't gonna be doing a whole bunch to AV14 anyway.

I will try that and see how it runs.
I am thinking I will put the mek with the 20 shootas and the boss in a squad of 30 right behind them. I can use the first mob as a screen for the second and shoot and move to get in there as fast as I can. Put the other 30 shootas on the other side of the board and let the lootas pound the armor.

I'd do it in opposite order unless you want your Mek retreating after a round of focused fire.

EDIT: How about doing the 9 kan spam?

My only concern is the lack of scoring units. I will have to keep the 2 squads alive...

Is it just me or does no one play orks for fun now, it's all nob bikers or 120 boyz?

What happened to the looted wagons, battlewagons with kill kannons, SAG's and all the other random but fun stuff

It's pretty difficult to bring all the cool stuff to a 1k match. Storm Boyz, Lootas, Wagons, etc. all add up pretty quickly on anything less than 1500, and even then it can be difficult to still get the troop base than you need.
