Ok so I reposted this b/c someone pointed out to me that I posted it in the wrong place. Escuse me I'm new to Dakka. I feel along with others the Dark Eldar have been neglected especially in Apocalypse. Not many people play DE B/C well the figures can be boring and there isn't much variety. Rumors have gone around about the DE getting a revamp soon. I hope so they need some new designs and characters. Some conversion ideas have been running through my head and you don't see many out there. The first I call the Pillager my inspiration comes from well pirate ships. MORE Dark Lances and the ability to Transport too. Basically a beefed up Ravanger attatched to a Raider. Its ready to take on a baneblade or Stompa.




Next is just a idea of a Archon with a Devestator new hair and a couple of slaves. Dont have a codex eith me so `1i dunno if you can even have a devestator on an Archon if not you should be able to. He's the boss he can have what ever weapon he wants

I don't think the top one looks good at all. I'd say you have to build stuff mostly from scratch using some of the iconography of Dark Eldar.

How about something more like the shape and size of Jabba's sail Barge? A double decker Raider still isn't that large afterall and looks decidedly unstable. If you want to use raiders, why not model two alongside each other and make a catamaran?

Nope, it's a Haemonculi-only weapon, like the stinger and scissorhands.

Thanx everyone for you Ideas. Jabba's Ship would make for a perfect Dark Eldar Monster ship. As for the devestator i didn't think so oh well would make for a cool model. could count it as another weapon.

That Archon is one of the worst models in G-Dubbs' portfolio. It summarizes the rest of the DE range perfectly:

Well, you say that the minis are boring, but they're not. They're just incredibly ugly.

Honestly, the only good looking DE is Lelith. Every other one is a sin against nature. And it's a real shame too, since their art tends to be very good.

OK so I kicked around the Jabba thing (thanx howard) and here is a quick idea of what wit would look like. The scale is off but you get the idea it would be a little longer than a baneblade. All hail the Pillager the Flagship of the DE army. Transport two Warrior squads, dual Dark Lance Cannon on front and Three on each side alon g with the port hatches for troop shooting. Downsides slow for normal DE tactica Armoured well but would still be vulnerable agianst heavy blasting. I think I will look for a model Sail ship. I just usually am broke so cant take big projects like these on.

AS for Ghidorah I agree Fugly thats why people dont play DE. Thats exactly why they need a make over.

That's a great idea, but only two warrior squads seems very weak as far as transport goes.

In one of the old books GW had the vehicle creation rules, they did an example of a DE vehicle that was pretty big and good. If only I could find a pic....

I've always wanted to do a DE army with a big hovercraft in it. I was inspired by the old "He-man" movie, where Skeletor enters earth riding this big floating barge with huge throne on it. It reminds me of the DE on a raid.

The pillager is an interesting idea, but just looks odd with the raider tacked on underneath. I would recommend just flipping the raider over... would give more of a sailing-ship feel to the vehicle.

Looks like a pretty awesome DE apoc vehicle to me, but I like the idea of a bireme-style raider. Just putting one over the other doesn't cut it though...
