I just moved back to Monterey from Hawaii and the players here aren't as interested in competitive games... Where do all the gamers in the San Jose area gather for games? What about San Francisco? I'd rather not drive that far every weekend, but if there's nothing big in SJ...
Thanks in advance!

Game Kastle has a couple of regular gaming groups. GK also has its own forums. Thursday nights there are generally a few pickup games with people from the Fighting Hellfish (it's when I tend to play). Some of us can be extremely competitive, though the double lash lists have been put away for the past few weeks. Saturdays/Sundays from noon onwards sees games from The Dogs of War (sorry, no linkage - check Game Kastle's site for a link to their forums). In general, I find them to field less competitive, but more often painted, forces.

Dundracon is coming up on the 15th of Feb I think (maybe the 14th). 1850 point lists. Should find a good field there.

Dundracon should not be confused with being close to San Jose, though.

True. But if you're looking for competition, it's is a fairly time effective trip, and a good place to make some connections that would be closer to SJ.

I live in salinas, and like competitive games, If you wanted to get some games in at the habitat sometime im down to meet up there or im building a table at my house if you would rather not play there. I travel to the san jose Gw store to play here and there in the westfield mall, they just relocated this week to a bigger spot in the mall and made space for 12 tables there. Anyways shoot me a message if you get a game going.

I drove up to the mall at Westfield this Saturday and the store was closed with no signs of any kind. I guess it would've been nice if they put a "We moved from 1108 to blah" sign ffs. What a waste of a Saturday morning.

Westfield = name of the mall chain
Oakridge = name of the specific mall with the GW store in it
I didn't know they had moved - I don't think I've been there in a couple years. I'm glad they got more space, though - the last spot was very cramped with a couple tables in it.

If you are willing to drive up to San Francisco then Gamescape (on Divisidero near Oak) has tables. Last I checked they had 40k games on Friday nights. (More proof that 40Kers are 'the hardc0re').
I should mention that I plan on attending Friday nights in March.
Also there is endgame in Oakland. Tuesday is on 40k
