If I put a Sorcerer Lord in with a unit of chaos warriors, who are already being accompanied by the BSB, who has the Banner of Rage (frenzy, never lose it), and the Sorcerer Lord casts a spell using his Conjoined Homonculus ability, does he have to test for stupidity the next turn? or is he Immune to Psychology with the Banner of Rage?

Thanks in advance.

nevermind, I found it in the rulebook. ITP only covers fear, terror, and panic now. Good info to know.

Immune to Psychology is not immunity to stupidity.

Several ways that vampires can be stupid, yet immune to psych.

Konrad...item that gives 4+ward and stupid...the stupid, stupid Lizard banner that makes casters looking at it stupid...

Lost a game yesterday. My ASB vampire went stupid, making the unit of GG and Manfred stupid. They aimlessly all walked out of a house, directly in front of two stegadons. One charged the side, one the front. POOF! Game over.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

As the rule "Immune to Psychology" is confusing a lot of people, I suggest GW just change it to "Immune to Fear, Terror, and Panic." That would remove alot of confusion.

So long as they still couldn't choose to flee a charge, I'd be fine with that.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

Or maybe you make a rule called "un-shakeable" which would include Immunity to fear terror and panic and make it so you were unable to flee from a charge. I don't care, but calling it "immune to Psychology" is just confusing players who don't bother to look up the rule in the book. They see "immune to Psychology" and see that stupidity is in this psychology section of the book and assume that means that they are immune to stupidity or hatred or frenzy or anything else.

I don't think it has anything to do with being too lazy to look up the rule. It has more to do with the previous edition. Having to adapt to the rule change is something that most people are still trying to do. If you'd read my post, I edited it and said I looked it up and found that ITP said fear, terror, and panic. In the old rules, it was all of them. It's still a somewhat educated assumption to think that the rule is the same.

I suppose I just have to deal with too many changes from rule book to rule book to assume anything is ever left the same. As I officiate for baseball, basketball, and football, I read all of those rule books from cover to cover every year and there are many rule changes in each. most of the time, they are not too big, but come up several times a season, and most people don't know about the change. so whenever a new book comes out, I read it cover to cover. that doesn't mean I know all the rules, but I will also always look up a rule I see like "immune to Psychology" it's just in my nature as an umpire. and if there is ever any rules question that comes up and I don't know the rule, I look it up. just the way i've been trained I suppose.

I agree, if I was getting paid to know the rules, I would definitely read them cover to cover. As it stands however, it's a miniature game and I have not done so. I'll assume until it comes up on the battlefield!!

Yeah, reverse-compatibility is the issue here. It’s been called Immune to Psychology for what, 20 years now? In previous editions it did make you immune to other psychology effects. They cut down the list drastically for 7th, but the army books all still used that exact name. Not only for special rules, but also for magic items and spells (ItP also makes units immune to quite a few spells). I agree that it would be nice if they could figure a way to change the name of the rule next edition.
