I am new to the hobby and was just curious how many points are most Apoc battles?

If their really isn't a average number just tell me the starting smallest sizeof an Apoc battle.

How so? You don't have to follow that rule, Apoc says make up your own rules if you want to. You could very easily use the rules at 2,000 pts if you wanted to.

I love Apoc myself, I think it is great fun. Get a couple of friends together, if you all have a few thousand points you can team up.

The games are crazy fun, just all kinds of wacky things going on and big explosions everywhere. I really enjoy it.

That's exactly what I meant.

I can sort of see why they say that though much small than 3k and you run into problems of some assets being way over powered. particularly the orbital bombardment ones.

As far as average size that would depend on your play group. Mine has at times decided out of a whim to change the days game from two 1500 pt normal games to an instant 10k per side battle. (and yes the players had that many "extra points" on hand)

But thats along the lines of a very large Apoc game.

We typically play our mini mega battles at roughly 15k per side, to our larger games ringing in at 30-40k per side.

But, its sometimes just fun to do a team battle using apoc rules (or modifying them to follow some form of force org) at 2 players per side, 3k each.

Apocalypse is best done in teams IMO, and you can easily make any two groups of people even that way. The only problem I run into with it is the guy proposing an apocalypse game at the shop will be the only guy with 14 super mega death tanks (two of which are primed, and ususally not fully constructed). I hate those kinda people.
