Hello!
I have been lurking here for long time and now I finally decided to make own blog. I have never finished an army and I have only painted few minis (~20). I am not too good with conversions either. I chose daemons because I can play both games with them with those awesome GF9:s movement trays.
I don't like GW:s horrors or plaguebearers, so I am going to make my own. I started with horrors. I used VC ghouls as base and here are the results:

Those turned up pretty nicely and I like the way they look. GS in their back is meant to look like flames. They don't have heads - they got one big cyclopean looking eye! I hope you can get the idea...
I am making ten of those before starting to convert plaguebearers. I will try to give you updates ~once in a week. If there is anything you'd like to ask, just ask. I am more than happy to help if I can.
Here is little sneak peak for the coming:

C&C please

P.S. Are those pics too small? Maybe I should try to post bigger @ next time?

Yes size does matter. I like the concept there is always a big leap between the impression the conversion makes and the end result. so far I would say the flames could look smoother you maybe like to add little flames to the armes ellbows or hips.

That's some nice GS work.

And good choice on Ghouls for Plaguebearers.

I'm planning on converting Bloodletters as generic Daemons for my CSM. Perhaps you like those models?

I also considered Dryad and Saurus as basis for conversion, so those might be helpful for you.

Thanks for replies!

Symbio Joe: I have already been making some smoother flames. I will probably mix these "rough" flamed guys with smoothers to create units with some variety.

Thanks! Yeah I like those new plastic bloodletters. I don't know if I will make some minor conversions with them but I am pretty happy with them.
I will use also ghouls with plaguebearers. I have good ideas for them, you will see later.

Any ideas for building flamers?

Before I finished reading through your first post I thought that the green stuff looked like flames, good work on it. Can't wait to see some paint on them!!
