Furthering my Space Marine bike army. How are people modeling a Master of the Forge on a bike? Being a metal model, I don't have the equiptment to really cut him in half, and I am not sure at $20 that I would want to. Any suggestions?

You might want to throw a ? on the end of your topic as folks are going to come to the thread (like I did) expecting to see a MotF on a Bike rather than looking for advice about it...

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

your best bet is to buy the techmarine instead.

invest in a dremel, it'll do you good.

i agree with washaway, dremels are cheap, even knock off dremels get the job done for cheaper. Also do some searchers on here, Ive seen this done a few times by others. you can do it!

Frankly, while a dremel is your best friend when it comes to converting work, you don't need a dremel for this project. There's a few things you can do for it. First off, if you want to use a metal techmarine, the best way to cut him in half is to use a razorsaw which might run you $9-$12 something like that. Problem you're going to have with using the top half of a metal techmarine on a bike base is that it's going to be very top heavy and tippy.

I'd consider going all-plastic with him. Check out the piece here by Tiriel from over on B&C:

This uses a bunch of the pieces for the Master of the Ravenwing on the Ravenwing sprue for the techmarine and could work very well for you as well. I'm not sure what the backpack is from, but I'm sure you could pin some tech-looking widgets together for an over-the-shoulder conversion beamer.

The Blood Angels Honour Guard comes with a metal techmarine torso. Here it used atop Khorne Berserker legs to convert an IW Raptor Champion:

This IW Warsmith on bike is converted from: Old Master of the Ravenwing body (though any "techie" body will do), metal servo arm and techmarine axe from the box set.

I agree, you can even go so far as to use the Master of the Ravenwing Jetbike model.

But there are plenty of plastic options, and the conversion beamer is an attack bike and an epic plasma cannon away.

Current Armies: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard (40k), Skorne, Retribution (Warmachine), Vampire Counts (Fantasy)

If you were really cool, you would cut the torso off and magnetize it. That way you can have the riding legs attached to the bike and have walking legs too.

Any chance you can post a link to the thread? I tried my search-fu on B+C but came up with nothing.

Here's the thread, Joyous_Oblivion: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showtopic=121562&hl=

It's down at the bottom of the page and the top of the next. If you want info on how it was made, I can PM what Tiriel sent me when I asked him about it.

DBM: If you could PM the info it would be much appreciated, that conversion struck me as very cool and original.
