I will be studying abroad at Kansai Gaidai University Next fall, so I was wondering if there are any 40k gamers in the Osaka area. Playing a game in Nihongo would be pretty cool.

I was, but I'm back in the states.
There's a Warhammer club that meets once a month in Kyoto that I can put you in touch with, and GW has a battle holiday in Osaka once a month at a hobby shop called Iconoclasm. Iconoclasm is an awesome shop in general, with its own crowd, so there'll be plenty of opportunities to game besides the GW Battle Holidays.
Let me get home from work and I'll look into digging up some urls. If you can read Japanese, just go to GW's Japanese page and look on the 'events' page for the Battle Holiday schedule. You'll even see a picture of me.

Wow, thanks. I think I will do that, but it looks like I dont know enough Kanji to navigate the site very well. I will keep at it though.

It'll certainly teach you about reading addresses in Japanese right quick, and learning the Kanji for Osaka is useful too.
http://jp.games-workshop.com/hobbysupportschedule/battleholiday/default.htm
Osaka is the 4th one down on the current list. Looks like the 15th was the last battle holiday, and they haven't put up the March schedule yet.
Here's the Iconoclasm's page - it's easy enough to navigate even without much Japanese. http://www.hobbymetal-iconoclasm.com/

I recommend Paul Scott's classes, great professor I still quote stuff from him.
Definitely do a homestay, DO NOT do the foreign dorms. And watch as much Japanese TV as you can.

Why don't you buy a codex in japanese (and one in your native tongue as well, so there isn't any super confusing stuff going on) while your there to an army you haven't played, and start a new army all in japan. Socializing with a bunch of gamers in Japanese while you do this will surely help you improve your skills in both language and warhams (or 40hams).

Do they print the codexs in Japanese? If so, then I am DEFINITELY going to buy a Japanese codex and do some mad crazy Japanese gaming. たのしみ!

Anyway, I'm in the UK for Uni, but I go back to Tokyo on break and stuff, so yeah. Historically, I've had trouble finding a place to play... but then again I guess this was before GW actually expanded into Japan... (if you can call that "expanding...")

Your message arrives one week late. Last monday we had a mini con going on I got my head handed to me by a really nice guy, Roberto from Nagoya. Zannen!
I don´t know the Kyoto gaming scene so unless you want to come to play to Kobe, Nagoya apparently has a lot of people gaming there and they are planning some heavy gaming for next years Golden Week.
