Hi guys, I want to take a dedicated Raider for my chaos termies. However I want to deepstrike the termies and use the LR for another unit.

I know the other unit can't start in the tank but is this possible? A problem I see is they both go down at the same time which is obviously impossible if the terms are DSing

They don't both go down at the same time, they are seperate units, so unless the terminators are in the land raider they have nothing to do with each other's arrival.

For instance, if both were kept in reserve to be brought on later but the terminators were not coming on in the land raider you would make seperate reserve rolls for each unit.

There is no reason that you would be unable to deploy the land raider at the start of the game and hold the terminators in reserve to deep strike at a later point.

Go down at the same time? I think you're still thinking of 4th edition. In 5th edition you deploy your entire army at the same time. And yes, you can keep the Terminators in reserve to arrive by Deep Strike and still deploy the LR to be used by another unit (although they can't start in it, as you said).
