I wanted to make a list that was different from template spam or Nidzilla, and didn't need to rely on Synapse.

Edit 1: Removed a squad of Genestealers and a pair of Raveners for Lictory goodness

Put feeder tendrils, and scything talons on the broodlord.
Drop the Raveners for Lictors, so that you can reroll reserve rolls.
You are coming up short in the anti tank department, I feel you are going to need zoans or a flyrant.

Broodlord already comes with Talons, but will consider feeder tendrils and something else (flesh hooks?)

I thought about a lictor, but in the end, two Raveners get me more attacks than just one model.

This is really meant for fun games, and I figure that any tank I'd just charge and hit rear armour 10 on S4 with rending claws. But after I get all this in order, I'm putting in Carnifexes to take this up to 1500.

Edit: Lictors added over Raveners and a squad of stealers. Now it's S6 rending goodness against Tanks.

For a fun list it looks great now. But don't play it vs Eldar or Tau, you will have one hell of a time killing skimmers.

Why not add the fexes right away instead of the lictors? >_>

More of a fluff reason, but I see your point.

I imagined this as sort of a vanguard Tyranid force, with the lictors and genestealers popping up to scout out the planet before the hive ship disgorges everything. Carnifexes just don't seem that scouty...

I like the fluffyness of the list but a landraider will really ruin your day.

Also everything in your list dies to bolters. Lictors have an ability to reroll your reserves. in this list its essentially wasted unless the broodlord his infiltrate to outflank. Remember that the broodlord must take a retinue.

All right, looks like Lictors are out...

Should I keep the broodlord or switch him out for some warriors or a Tyrant? I'm not too keen in lightening up my troops, and if I use the lictor points to buy more genestealers, that's less points going towards ???

As it stands.. the broodlord can glance a landraider.. with toxin sacs you can penetrate one.

Its a bit of a long-shot but its doable.

4+ armor is worth it. Or making sure youve got a cover save.

Either a warp-field flyrant will sort out anti-tank nicely. A Sniper-fex just stops vehicles.. it doesnt remove them so well. likewise a normal CC fex is slow.

I would definately get a tyrant, though it will interfere with the fluffyness. In small games nothing makes a better HQ. Equipped right it does it all. Enemy HQ, no problem. Elites, no problem. Tanks, no problem. Only large groups of troops with a hidden PK or PF should worry you, but just avoid them (you can move 12" so it shouldnt be an issue).

Drop the acid maw and get scuttlers, that way everything can DS or outflank, and the lictors help to determine when everything shows up.

I would suggest giving either the broodlord or a stealer brood implant attacks for the hard units

The Broodlord, 'may' take a retinue he's not required to have one.

hmmm, I always thought it was "must". Will check the codex. back in a min.

Ok in the broodlord profile it says that its: 1 broodlord and a retinue of 5-11 genestealers.

"Brood: One Broodlord and a retinue of 5-11 Genestealers"

No options.

Convert the Tyrant intoa Gigantic Genstealer and just make it a genestealer infected local monstrosity. Much easier and fits with the fluff also to a point,w ell give him wings and just convert it to look really agile.

Scuttlers are damned useful maybe half and half. Keep some Lictors in there for support and some harder hitting power. The lictors feeding tendrils will then give the genestealers the preferred enemy skill if they are close enough to the units hence saving points on the stealers also.
