So I've been painting...
Alot more than usual anyhow- and I've heard of an awesome little challenge

Its called the 520 club...
10 models a week, 52 weeks in a year... bang 520 models painted

My next goal will probably be to take decent pics of my marine, guard, goblin, WOTR Dwarf army and any other bits people want me to

From my understanding of the 520 club don't tanks count as 5 models? If thats true you technically painted 50 models in the first week!!!

Anyway good luck with keeping it up throughout the year.

Bignutter - I applaud your efficiency and productivity! Your 10 Leman Russes are inspiring me to finish assembling mine and get them painted up!

Impressive volume of work so far, especially week one! Looking forward to seeing if you can keep going with this. Good luck, you crazy thing!

There are no official 520 club rules. It's always easier to just count them as 1, but
some people want to count them as more.

I base my number on the number of stands. I'm behind on my own, thus far,
only having 46 or something painted models.

Week 5 has been complete- as well as the objectives and dreads above... we can now add
not 1, not 2, but 3 completed baneblades:

*additional note* my picture taking appears to be quite poo- way too blury on some of the pics and the flash is too bright- I should really set up a light box or similar-
The squadron markings on the Baneblades are quite cool- they are all faded and chipped- I even went back and did the russ company again after trying it- i'll get better pictures later

Yay I got my gaming board finished, and just this morning finished the 5 guard officers...


Now the big question does the gaming board count as one model or as 6?


Also for next week I have a few possiblities, finish a load of spacemarines I undercoated yesterday, or do all the terrain needed for my gaming board? Which should I do next?

I've started weeks 7 and 8 with some marines- I thought i'd do the base coats of week 8's tac squad at the same time- and time permitting may try and push ahead onto the terminators and characters as well- so maybe I'll start to push ahead of the 10 a week deadline:

Well, at least it's a large model. It should take up some time.

Week 7 was purely a boring old tactical squad....

I say that because I had high hopes for doing at least 2 tac squads, and maybe a character or so- shame work got in the way (and being at work at past 10 at least 2 nights that i should have been done at 6....)

I guess its boring to me having painted over a company of the gits already over the past couple of years... I'm gonna try something new on the termies and captains- just to make it a bit more interesting.. Also just ordered some deathwatch bitz to do a squad of them.

So after not updating in a few days (damn you real life!) I return with the completed week 8 project, a marine tac squad and commander, the first of week 9's models, some ideas of WIP stuff- and madness planned for the coming weeks:

Week 9 has started with me messing around and making a colour scheme for my war of the ring dwarf army- I'm going to be painting this up fast partially to play and partially to show off for work

He will be joined hopefully this week by 15 terminators who I hope to batch paint- and start to push over that 10 model a week goal


Finally some WIP, instead of painting I've spent some time assembling- now there are a ton of things I should be working on, but occasionally I have an idea that I decide I need to do:

A deathwatch squad to join my marines (count as sternguard) 10 man squad, 9 from a tac squad with parts from the bitz pack, and the limited edition mailorder marine as their sgt
They'll be joined by a drop-pod- hopefully these fellas will be getting worked on week 10 or 11

Next we have the honour guard:

each of whom is converted from the games day model- I'm going to hold off on painting these until I do the masters of the chapter and convert up a chapter master to lead them- and maybe a pair of battle standards to lead them... the plan being
A) it gives me 10 models to paint for a week
B) I can do a loyalist and corrupted banner to give my marines the ability to be used for good or evil


So that should do it for now- when those termies are done, they are going straight up and I shall start hitting the War of the Ring dwarves hard! The goal is to really push beyond that 10 models a week goal over the next few weeks!

Thats it for this week- Not sure what to next... we have a big tank battle at work at the end of the week- so I should really finish some tanks lying around- as well as the store's stompa I'm painting, my own 2 stompas, a shadowsword, drop pod, 2 falcons oh and my Dwarves for WOTR :( urgh... what to paint next? Any ideas?

Paint fast stuff to offset the amount of time put into the tanks. Unless you're
naturally fast at painting tanks, then I don't know. Moar tanks?

I do seem to do tanks pretty quickly...especially my guard ones... should probably post a step by step guide for giggles on the modeling forum to show 'em- nice and easy and quite quick

So... 18 weeks... I should have painted at least 180....
well I did abit more.. 247 to be exact- which is quite nice.

I did it, just takes the dedication to KNOW that you HAVE to paint 10 models a week.. I tried to do 12-15 in a week, in case of a slack week I would have overage to cushion the total..

Was contemplating trying it for a second year.. but.. geez..

I'm playing a 9000pt apoc game tommorow and thought I'd field a fully painted army for once... so here are the things that were finished
