So I have been playing games with a full Ravenwing army, a full Deathwing army, and have played some games with doublewing. Now I am toying around with a list I would like to be competitive at 2000 points. Let me know what you think.

All of the models listed are models that are currently in my possession. I've toyed with the idea of three Vindicators but decided to go with the Dreadnoughts for two reasons: 1) They are all venerable and much harder to take down, especially with a 36" weapon keeping them away from nasty meltas, and 2) they are quite flexible and can tie up units in CC if necessary. I've also thought about Land Raiders but I'm afraid to drop my bike squads for them and lose the anti-tank firepower they provide.

Looks pretty good. I don't have much to say, it seems a decent Doublewing list. Has all the advantages and all the disadvantages inherent in such a list.

I'd be inclined to stick 2lascannon and missile launcher on those dreads. It's relatively easy to find positions with dreadnoughts whereby you get a 4+ cover save, which coupled with venerable makes them pretty difficult to get rid of. Will give you a solid durable firebase.

Maybe TL Lascannon on one but I kind of like the ability to still insta-kill an Ork Warboss in cc.

Me too. Of course if he comes attached with a squad I can't single him out, right?

The TLLC and ML combo is an interesting proposition. I could drop 3 bikes and upgrade all three with 10 pts left over. But if I ended up doing this I might give it to one or two and use the leftover points for a special weapon in the fourth termi squad.

I also found an error in my list. It's actually 1990 points. So I can put a second meltagun in the 3-man bike squad.

As long as you are in base to base with the warboss in close combat you can pick him out.

i was thinking the same weapon wise on the dreads, just swap one out with ML and TL las, should help a fair bit

also, on the note of instantly killing warbosses, ghaz cant be, so watch out there
