Has any IG player actually won a KP mission without tabling their opponent, when their opponent wasn't also IG?

Just curious.

I have, but never against anything I'd consider a hard list played by a top notch player.

I've had a couple of very hard fought draws. But wins? No, not in 200 estimated Annihilation missions since last year.

If my opponent isn't tabled it's a draw for Annihilation stuff.

I've seen it done vs. Mech Tau, which also sucks pretty bad as KP games.

In the many games I've played with my IG I have never won a KP mission. I've only drawn. IG bleed to many KP's too quickly. One minute you could be up 4-5 KP's but the opponent can easily catch up by killing easy units. Also, are you talking an actual IG army and not some: homogenized-IG army-with-50 million-allied-units-that-people-try-to-pass-off-as-an-IG-army?

I have but I felt dirty about it afterwards. At 1500pt's it had 15 infantry and 12 vehicle's but I think it still would have lost against a hard list.

several times against orks, necrons, tau, space marines, chaos marines, and IG but thats because i use fully loaded IG units that carry alot of stuff and not load out with just basic crappy infatry like most IG players or it could be that my gaming store just doesnt play kill points well, idk.

Yes. However, the conditions and matchup were more favorable (i.e. table quarter deployment, my opponent didn't have enough anti-tank, etc.).

Yes. No but. My first two KP games ended 11:3 versus Eldar and 9:4 vs. Nids. The last game vs. Orks was 7:8 in his favour, which, considering all things, at least feels like a small victory.

No.

I've only played one 5th ed. Annihilation mission as IG (with DH allies, apologies to the purists!) so far. IG is only one of three armies I play. This was my most recent game: 1000 pts vs Orks.

All that remained of the Orks were 11 Shoota Boyz and one immobilized looted vehicle off in the corner. I still had over half my army on the board. But the KPs came out 7:6 in favour of the Orks!

Wow, KPs are ridiculous.

Yes actually!
It was against a Nid player, with stealers, 5 fexes and lotsa gaunts. I won with an extreme ammount of luck (my officer with a powerfist killed 2 warriors, a ravener, a carnifex and 15 gaunts ) and w/o # helped alot too.

I have never won a KP mission at all with IG.

After 5 games, I didn't really want to even try anymore.

I have, and it was pure IG with no allies, vs Iron Warriors.

However, my command squads (which give out lots of KPs) were nice and hidden behind tank hulls so as not to die.

Out of more curiosity -- how have IG players done in the other two missions? Because in theory KP is suppose to help balance scoring spam armies (something IG on paper can accomplish).

I have found it to be a challenge o be so weak in CC when trying to take enemy objectives, it has been difficult. I haven't been able to win a take and control either.

Using IG tanks in an attempt to drive over enemy objectives has worked out poorly with the CC rules hitting rear armor, and walking there doesnt work to well. I haven't tried dropping mixed with regular yets however...

I have won a few. Mostly at low points. Higher point cost games I have managed a few draws and 1 or 2 wins. Mostly can pull a draw at mid level points games. Higher points? Forget about it. Tend to get smacked on the kill points. Do well in the other missions. Have problems with multiple objectives due to hth.

IG faces the same problems it did in 4ed when it comes to claiming objectives. We need to stand still to kill anything, so everything we have that is mobile is taking away from our overall killing ability. Chimeras are extremely overpriced, deep striking is unreliable, and running our infantry takes time. And of course, the closer we move to our enemy, they sooner they can destroy us in melee

I think all IG players have watched a unit (or simply 1 SC) completely destroy an entire platoon of IG in a few turns. Taking objectives and holding them is not easy. But at least we have a better chance than in a KP mission.

KP makes the game not fun for me, and not because I will most likely loose. It is because it forces me to play my IG army in a completely "unGuardy" manner. It forces me to try to conserve my infantry units instead of trading their lives for victory (like any IG commander worth his rank should be willing to do). I really hope in the new codex, KPs are fixed for IG.

I have seen it done but it was against a DE raider heavy army or Trukk Heavy Orks.

I play mostly against Chaos Marines and in annihilation i go for elimination! My sole victory was when he conceded the game after a destructive shooting phase on my 4rth turn. I still counted points afterwards and came like 4-10 in my favour. So major victory here. I had all my army minus a heavy weapons and an infantry squad and he had one raptor a squad of chosen and a noise marines squad. Objectives missions: I hold my own well enough thank you very much, anything i send to grab his is dead by the fourth turn Result: Draw draw draw

You shouldn't be worried about the one bullet with your name on it, Boldric. You should be worried about the ones labelled "to whom it may concern"-from Blackadder goes Forth!

Once, but the game was against a non optimal build and I had an very lucky 2nd turn shooting phase. (got all hits, or favorable scatters) Other wise it is just (well its turn 3 and I have already lost more KP than your entire army)
