So I have been looking in the Daemon Codex at Ku'gath. His stats and abilities look really good, but are they 300 points good? Does anyone have any experience with Ku'gath and care to comment on his effectiveness?

Far overpriced in my opinion.

He's on my list of things to playtest. I've got a feeling he's somewhat sick-good, but not ridiculously so.

For nurgle based goodness I assume you would take epidermus? Could you get more kills (quickly) spending the points elsewhere?

Either way.. it doesnt look like hes going anywhere, W6, T6, FNP, 4++ !

Ku'gath is not good, even in Mono-nurgle. He's overcosted, nets you kills you can get better with DPs, and generates free KPs. You're much better off with Epi and a GUO.

Ku'gath is pretty hot if your doing a nurglezilla list, my big issue with him is as iron chaos brute said he generates killpoints which is kina a downer but on the flip side Ive played the Nurglezilla list and its hilarious dropping him + 3 princes with breath on a unsuspecting foe!

before spending extensive time converting him i had a friendly game at a LGS using a "counts as" GUO, he seems to be ok, only real point with him though would be taking epi. aswell for the tally, his shooting attack isnt bad atall, but would need to be in a list with alot of nurgle spam to really make use.
credit though, he killed 2 ironclads and 23 tac marines before dying to massed dev. fire :(

Thanks for the comments. I am considering running him in a Daemonzilla list. Bloodthirster, Ku'gath, 3 nurgle princes and 2 squads of 4 crushers with 2 squads of bloodletters as troops. I have been running this with 2 bloodthirsters, but I think taking Ku'gath instead of one bloodthirster is at least worth play testing.

I recently faced him in a tournament, combined with epidemius and two other nurgle princes. He's almost impssible to kill, tosses lots of ranged attacks, but is slow. Then again, the whole deepstriking thing kinda negates that. If you want a huge monster that's virtually unkillable, take him. If you want speed, don't .

I faced him with imperial guard, and he shrugged off a ridiculous amount of firepower and my rough riders. I believe I took two wounds off him... he then proceeded to wade through my battleline, and there was nothing I could do to stop him.

if taking ku'gath then epi is pretty much an auto choice to make him more effective
with nurgle prices, beasts and bearers hacking away at everything he should be bloody solid

im yet to fight him, but im sure its nothing 45 deffgunz cant stop over 2 turns or so
